I see it like this. There are 104 chances to win the Usa Mega Millions Jackpot each year. There are also 104 chances to win the Powerball Jackpot each year as well. Thats 208 possible chances to win the Jackpot of either game! In 10 years, thats 2080 chances (and its multiplied if you uy more than 1 ticket!!) Thats not bad at all! You have better odds buying a $1 jackpot lottery ticket and winning the jackpot than you do if you took that same $1 dollar, took it to a casino and tried to turn it into $1million bucks.
And if you live in a state with other high jackpot lotteries, your chances are even better. In NJ we have the Pick 6 which starts at $2 mill. I prefer to play the higher jackpot games since I can retire off those amounts. I do play it every now and then when it gets above $4 million though.
So guys look on the bright side, thats a LOT of chances to win the big one!

I look at it this way:
If I fly somewhere, I have an even chance of dying in a plane crash........
In fact, the odds of you dying in a plane crash - or being struck by lightning 3 times - are better than the odds of winning a jackpot.
The way I got it figured, on my BEST day the chances of ME winning the jackpot are 1 in about 10 million. Still not good odds, but this is just a hobby for me, I love playing a chess match with constantly changing dynamics, and I'm getting better at it every drawing.

My point is, you just gotta think positively about the situation, thats all. Not to the point of being delusional, but to the point where it makes you feel better.

...... hey, only have the Powerball and the Raffle game, when there is one in PA .... lots of chances with the other games also, I guess .... it's the "time thing" .... I don't have 10 years ... it has to be "now or never" .... I look at it like "prospecting for gold" .... you get a few flakes or a small nugget ... maybe a "glory hole" ... but it's the "mother lode" that we all seek .... but very few will live long enough to find it or hit the big one !!! .... but you have to try .... you get a grubstake and your mule and go back out again and again until they find your bones one day out in the desert ! .... good luck ...

I don't think negative (that's not good), I don't think positive (I always get let down), I think REALISTICALLY, if I win, I win, but I enjoy trying to get myself in a better position to win, to me that's fun.

I look at it this way. The only way to guarantee NOT to win, is not to play. By the way, someone always wins, eventfully. I think it just as well could be me as the next person.

Finally! someone who isnt a mary sunshine or a grey cloud of doom! Thank you for placing both feet on the ground and reaching for the stars! Tis the realist that accepts things!
As to the original concept of winning. Its 50/50. You either win or ya lose. As to WHAT amount you win, thats a whole other bag of beans. Rarely do I think of my ticket other then in the Ive won or I didnt win. There isnt any "if only", or "gosh I was so close!". I figure take it as it comes.
