Depends on the game - lots of variations.

There are 552,446,474,061,128,648,601,600,000 different bingo cards possible.

If you selected 24 numbers that fit on a bingo card you could arrange them in 4,976,640,000 different ways.

Just thought you'd like to know. And you thought lottery odds were long.....

yeah i learned today before you posted this that it had like a zillion different ways a bingo cards possible....But that's not what i meant...What i mean is, If 20 people each bought 10 or 5 cartons/cards, someone or a couple of people will have to win soon or later....I think 552,446,474,061,128,648,601,600,000 if there was such an odd, would be to win it on the first 3 or 4 balls draw with 1 card/carton, even though i don't think it will be that much, it might be something like 200 Million...What i am saying is what are the odds that someone will win sit eventually....It should be something like 1 in 8 or something like that...I think the odds are the amount of people playing Bingo...Because if there are 20 people playing with 5 cartons/cards at least 1 of them is eventually bound to win...So it will be 1 in 20 or 19 and it wil also minorly depend on how many cards/cartons a person has...What i am saying is SOMEONE HAS TO WIN in Bingo...

i think the 552,446,474,061,128,648,601,600,000 means how many number faces a bingo card can have...five hundred fifty-two septillion, four hundred forty-six sextillion, four hundred seventy-four quintillion, sixty-one quadrillion, one hundred twenty-eight trillion, six hundred forty-eight billion, six hundred one million, six hundred thousand)....

I'll like to Invent a different way to play bingo...LIke inventing a way that we could play bingo more easily or that it will be more fun to play...

For example i just thought of playing bingo and the first person that claims the bingo come in first place, while the second person comes in second place, and so on successively, and each rank gets different points...And at the end the person with more points wins the jackpot...This way each person has a fair chance to win and not just the person with the most bingo cards/cartons...

I also thought of shortening the field of numbers instead of from 1 to 90 or 75 maybe 1-50, etc and perhaps shortening or widening the dimensions of the bingo cards/cartons...instead of 5X5 maybe 6X6 or 4X4, or 5X6, or 5X4, 3X7, etc...And also maybe letting different sections of the bingo cards worth different points, i don't know...One will really have to carefully research it & experiment with it...And maybe if certain numbers come up one after the other, and you have them you get more points, i don't know...

But definately the jackpot got to change because winning less than 20,000 is nothing...I say winning less than 100K is nothing too..Something like Progressive jackpot or something...I say 350,000.00 at least it should pay...Kind of like Poker and how the jackpot accumulates...Like poke where lots of tables play until you are left with a few...

        Anyone got ideas...

          pumpi76 -

Yep, I know. I was throwing out some figures I had worked out for a page on my web site a few years ago - thought they might be interesting, if not amusing.

I was in a bingo parlor in a casino a couple of weekends ago as a casual observer. Every game they played there was different - I never saw just a straight, regular bingo game played. Games like Four Corners, Cover-All, Bingo the Hard Way (can't use the center free spot, etc.), and more. Each game, of course, has different odds of winning, and, as the numbers are called, the odds of winning go progressively lower. You really aren't fighting the game odds as much as you're competing with the other players to see who can reach a certain point first.

You can win at a straight bingo game with as few as 4 drawn numbers but the free spot would have to be utilized. I haven't worked out the odds of this occurance but I suspect they're rather long. I don't know whether they would significantly differ if the N column was to be hit or if Row 3 or one of the diagonals were to be hit, or even if it would make any difference.

Some other math facts of the game:

Columns B, I, G and O have 360,360 different numeric combinations possible. Column N has 32,760 different numeric combinations possible.

If taken by themselves, Rows 1, 2, 4 and 5 have 708,750 different numeric combinations. Row 3, if taken by itself, has 50,625 different numeric combinations.

There are more than a few websites on the 'Net dealing with bingo, but I haven't found any with any significant information on bettering one's chances of winning.

I've played bingo at the Indian casinos,it's a lot of work keeping track of all those cards and spotting them. It seems like even MORE work when you don't win anything which I never did. For a 4 hour session it was $17,a whole heck of a lot less if I was actually in the casino playing machines so in that respect it's worth it!

Another idea i was thinking was that each bingo participant plays bingo and claims as many bingo (the exclamation not the game) as possible, until the carton/card is maxed out....And each claim of bingo (the exclamation not the game), a person receives points...Each points could worth different points...and you play like that until you've accumulated a lot of points or the most points...And you can reward the first place second and third place...Or you can reward just one place, number one...Is up to you but one thing is for certain..The bingo game has to change, they've got to make it more entertaining, more fun to play and make it so that it gives equitable chances of winning to all players...
