No.  Doesn't sound very exciting to me.

    Good Luck!

I agree, very boring.  And it's over in 3 seconds.  (As Craig Ferguson would say, "Remind you of anyone?")  But I would attend if they had some really good door prizes and I didn't have any other plans.

If it's a record jackpot and it's not much out of my way, I actually would go. If I win the jackpot, I can jump up and down say "I won! I won!". I'd be the fastest person to come forward in lottery history!Jester

Wasn't this recently asked?  I said no because I'm pretty certain the people who witness a drawing can't participate in the lottery games.  So in a very crazy way I might feel that would be the night my numbers would hit!  LOL  Anyway, it really sounds boring to me.  I suppose if there was a meeting with officials after the drawing and a dinner, it could be interesting.  However, I find nothing exciting about seeing some balls with numbers unless those happen to be my numbers.

Absolutely !  I currently attend lottery draws here in Ontario.  In fact anyone can go to a lottery draw.  All our draws are open to the public, they are also done in a storefront window in downtown Toronto.  There's about 7 games drawn for example using a Saturday night schedule.  What is great about this is that you see it happens legitimately, that even the draws people buy tickets and lose, and it's really a fun night out.  All numbers are video recorded.  It's really set up like a game show, bright lights, elaborate machinery, and fun seeing lottery players from all over checking their tickets at once.  Anyone can contact their state lottery and ask to sit in.  It may quell a lot of the misinfomation one has and cancel ones fears of draws being rigged.

That's true Yukio !  MANY countries use live shows to do the draws, using the audience members to press the button.  In Ontario for 15 years, a live lottery Wintario, would travel every week to a different town, village and draw its numbers from the community.  These people known as "button pressers" would be from the town.  They might be the mayor, a recent Wintario winner, a high school mascot, or Joe Blow off the street.  True story:  A gentleman one night at a Wintario draw show in Huntsville, Ontario pressed the button for the $100,000 grand prize.  His dad was watching from home and won $100,000 from his son's button press.

In my state, the only "button" to press is the one on the computer that picks the numbers Roll Eyes.

Actually I am going to the DC Raffle drawing on Tuesday the 28th.  The DC Lottery sent me an invite and I replied, was one of the first 50 (apparently only 100 replied overall) and was invited to go.

I am only attending to see what it is like and also they are giving some nice prizes..scratch-offs, t-shirts, etc. to attendees.  I am dragging my non-lottery playing wife since it is on the way to work and is Tuesday morning (an odd time to do this I think).  And free coffee and donuts!

So I will let you know how it goes.
