Finger Lakes - 9/25

8th Race

# 7 Maple Sugar (8/1)

Has a tough favorite to beat but she's the best of the rest.  Win and Place.

Good luck and good racing!

    Too late to edit...

Estimated probability to win:  25%.  The probability of the 6/5 morning line favorite is estimated at 29%.

If anyone is interested, I just posted a blog about beating the track takeout.

        Finger Lakes - 9/25

        8th Race

        # 7 Maple Sugar (8/1)

Has a tough favorite to beat but she's the best of the rest.  Win and Place.

        Good luck and good racing!

        # 7 Maple Sugar was scratched from the race.

I hate when that happens but there is always a good reason for a horse being scratched.  That is a system of its own...determining why.  Sometimes the trainer sees an easier spot for the horse a few days later, sometimes the horse isn't healthy.

Here's how I'd handle it if I were a Finger Lakes player.   Watch to see if this horse is entered in another race during the next five days or so.  If it is and its morning line odds are less than 8/1, then the trainer found a softer spot and it would be a Win play.

        See-ya tomorrow!

            Thumbs Up

PS...There is a page that I've visited that tells you the reason for the scratch.  It tells you if it was a trainer or trackside vet scratch, scratch due to surface change, etc.  I'll see if I can find it again and I'll post the link.

Posted 4/6:  IL Pick 3 midday and evening until they hit:  555, 347 (str8).
