  when i play i usually buy 3 to 5 tickets of the same kind

  I play in bulk...  If I don't win after that 4th or 5th ticket, I cut my losses and go home.

  How are you going to win if you don't play?

  Does any one else's state put the winners in the beginning?? When NY gets a new SO most of the bigger winners take place in the first 2 weeks, then only a couple of wins after that???

  I stop myself after five losers.I used to buy as many as needed to get a winner,but one time I bought 25 $2 tickets in a row and on the 25th ticket I finally one $2.I seldom buy scratch off tickets anymore.

  I rarely buy them.  I'd rather buy a ticket and wait several hours or days for the drawing. That way I lose my money a lot slower.

  If it's a new ticket I usually buy 3, I find that in GA, new tickets win more in the first few weeks they are out. For older tickets, I will buy 2 tickets, if one wins, I buy another, if no winner, i cut my losses and leave it at that. If I win $20 or more on a ticket, i do not but that same ticket in that store that day, but will try another ticket using some of my winnings.

  Wonder if we have any psychiatrists on the board- I've often wonderd if a study of scratcher sales was done if it would show that those with Type A personalities are more prone to buy scratchers -

  "I want to know right now" as oppossed to waiting for the drawing.  

  Just a thought.

  I rarely play instant games but when I do, I choose the games that are just released specially with the new holiday games now. Just because the top prizes are there.. with the older games some of them prizes have been hit so generally you should not buy a game thats been out a year...by the way most states tell you on their websites the number of top prizes left for each instant game..one should check it out and then pick accordingly depending on what's left....Oh I tried 6 $2 scratchers today won $2 on the fifth one..others were losers..decided not to buy anymore from that roll..

  100% wrong!  Games are programmed to spread the winnings thoroughout the game.  Your chance of getting a top prize are as good at the back end of a game as they are in the front.  How do I know?  I write those prize structures for a living.

   If I win $20 or more on a ticket, i do not but that same ticket in that store that day, but will try another ticket using some of my winnings.  That's wise.
