I was upgrading the rich text editor to the latest stable release, so things got glitchy around here for about 20 minutes.

As always, if you have any problems after I upgrade something clear your web cache and you'll be good to go.

Thanks Todd....  I have noticed that lately after posting n a thread, the post goes through, but the page goes to the beginning of the thread.... any reason why that's happening?

That's the first I'm hearing of that.  I've not experienced it myself.  Did you try a browser test?

OK, now the problems is not occuring!!  I just tested a post in the Miss Kitty thread (which is where I was having the problem every time I posted there).  Now it's going to my most recent post.  The only warning I had when I first check the browser was it recommended going full page.  I did that, and the problem is not happening now.  Could that have been the issue??

I haven't changed anything regarding that feature, so it was probably old code left in your browser cache.

                Calabs,

I've been seeing the same behavior: If you look at the address bar you'll see:

                http://www.lotterypost.com/thread/xxxxxx/0

                Instead of:

                http://www.lotterypost.com/thread/xxxxxx/yyyyyy

                Regards,

Thanks rteague and Raven...  I'm glad I'm not the only one experiencing this... at least I know it's not my config...!  I clear my cache just about every day, so I was surprised to see it keep happening.   Anyway, it went away just a abruptly as it showed up!  lol

Hurray!I never appreciated a Rich Text Editor or WYSIWYG until I installed a wonderful everything you need forum component for my site and later discovered that it uses bbcode - ONLY.   The creator of this wonderful everybody been waiting for - no bridge, even look good component stated that people don't need pretty pictures, tables and colors etc. and that he hated WYSIWYG with a passion- they just need to post what they need to say and move on.  He said it was for security reasons. I was like WTF.  Somebody hit him on the head.

He left out all structures for a hack to make it WYSIWYG.

So this little glitch is welcomed by me.

It's also very hard to implement a rich text editor in a forum, because people paste anything and everything, and you somehow have to deal with that.  It is very difficult coding.  I think that's a big reason why many forums cheap out and don't put one in there.

I am having the same results. I dumped my cache, but it did not make a difference. I just posted on page 4 of my thread and when the page refreshed it came back up on the 1st page of the thread, not the 4th. The new post went to the proper spot though.

                          Hey Todd!

I just had an idea... How about a link somewhere on LP that says, "Clear My Cache" that automatically clears the cache.

Big GrinActually Foxfire browser has a similiar idea in place.  It has a plugin where you can clear your cookies and other cookie functions like view, delete, add, etc. on a webpage.

Just one of the features is - when you view any webpage and if it's an error on that page it will show it and take you directly to where it is. The line in CSS.  You can view all ID information including images etc. and a slew of other tools.  It is awesome.
