I have completed the site update that I mentioned here: https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/172571

There were a few bugs that become immediately apparent when I installed the update, and I have fixed all but one of them (that I have found).

There is a Firefox menu issue that I can't do anything about until I get a patched file from another company. For now, Firefox users will see the blue menu bar shrink a little as they mouse-over it. When I am able to patch the menus, that will go away. I'm hoping to have it resolved Monday or Tuesday.

I will do an extensive writeup of the changes to the site, because there really are a lot of them. Right now I'm pretty tired, so maybe I'll do it in the morning sometime.

Most of the site should work fine without clearing your cache, although I always recommend doing a cache clear after a big update. It can't hurt. (Help forum has instructions.)

You will notice things here and there throughout the site, and perhaps some of them you won't notice until I tell you about it.

See the post linked above for a description of some of the changes, the biggest of which is probably the new version of the text editor which is now used in every text editor across the site, including brand new pages for Add/Edit Blog Entry and Edit Signature.

As I mentioned earlier, if you find a glitch, please send me a PM (or an e-mail). I'd rather keep glitch reports from clogging up the threads, and it helps me organize them.

The other big change I'll mention is performance/page startup times, which are dramatically better. Many pages previously had start-up times of a second or more, and now it's almost instantaneous. (Start-up time is the amount of time between when the page finishes downloading to your PC, and when you can actually use it. If you've ever seen rows on a table change from all the same color when the page downloads, to alternating light/dark colors a second or two later, that time between the load and the colors being fixed is the start-up time. During the start-up time the page is unusable, so eliminating that time means your whole experience is much better.)

No, there was complete network outage in the data center in which the Lottery Post server resides, making it impossible for anyone to reach the site for about an hour or so.

that exsplains why the system booted me a while back when I tried to leave a reply to this thread @ nearly 7:30 am edt

I have a feeling that you are trying to say something with carriage returns doesn't work right, but I can't comprehend what it is. It would be simpler if you could give a straightforward bug report in a private message.

Sorry Todd,I was trying to give you an example of what is happening, but it didn't come out right:If you type a phrase followed by the enter key, then type a 2nd phrase followed by the enter key, then type a 3rd phrase followed by the enter key, you wind up with 3 lines, but since the update was installed when you click post reply you wind up with all three phrases on the same line.

OK, it sounds like you're talking about the Simple Codes editor. (As opposed to the new Rich Text editor that I just installed.)

I should be able to fix that up pretty quickly -- maybe even by later this evening.
