The odds are high enough already. Maybe they will offer a $1 jackpot
kicker. I don't know why they have the powerplay option and no jackpot
kicker option. PowerBall is a Jackpot game after all.
I really don't understand why anyone would want powerplay on prizes smaller then $10,000. Geez! The odds of winning 10 grand on powerball are about the same as winning the jackpot on Fantasy 5 and the odds of winning 200 grand on powerball are about the same as a 6/40 game so I can see why someone would want to powerplay those two but why bother with the smaller prizes? If you are shooting for smaller prizes play the pick 3 and pick 4 you get way better prizes for the odds there. The odds of winning 5 grand on pick 4 are way better than winning 500 on pb with a powerplay.
Hopefully they will change it so that you can pick between the regular powerplay for a buck or bigplay (multiply the 10g and 200g prizes with higher multipliers than powerplay has but no multiplier on smaller prizes like powerplay has) and ad a Jackpot kicker option for a buck.
So you would be able to get the ticket with either powerplay or bigplay $2
or you could get the ticket with the jackpot kicker $2
or you could spend $3 bucks for the ticket with either pp or bp and jackpot kicker
or just spend a buck and get only the ticket.
That way the odds could be left alone and the player could decide if they want to get a ticket and/or the ticket options.
