7-11-08 Mid-Day Result: 823
Let me just vent a little -- ahh 823.. THE LAST 3 DIGITS OF MY LICENSE PLATE.. UGH!! Man, I HATE it when that happens.. I usually look out for the possibility for these numbers appearing.. which brings me to something I would like to discuss with the persons of this thread: how hot, is TOO hot? How far can digit(s) get from being cold and still be statistically reasonable?
I've just recently noticed that I tend to pick mostly hot & warm digits when I play the pick-5 games or jackpot games; yet, I am less willing to do the same when I play the pick 3 & 4 -- why is that?
I understand that it is wise to blend and vary your picks (pick a few numbers that contain only hot or overdue digits; pick numbers that contain 1-2 hot and one overdue digits, and vice-versa). I just seem to be trapped into this habit of favoring contrarian picks.. I am afraid of the trend, the trend, that should be my friend.. I really need to change my ways, right?
But, how hot, is TOO hot? If within a 40-day period, for example, the hottest digit has shown 30 times and the 2-3 coldest digits have only showed a maximum of 8 times, how can the hottest digit continue to remain SO DOMINANT?! What can we count on.. what can we BANK ON?
