No winner tonight, which was the last drawing for 2009, the game being drawn on Mon.-Wed.-Sat.

Jackpot rolls into 2012 at $4 million.

There were 11 winners for the year. all one-winner jackpots.

The largest jackpot was the first of the year, $25 million, the smallest was the last, $2.5 million.

The jackpots were, chronologically, in millions;

$25, $5, 44, $4, $5.25, $3,25, $11,5, $6.75, $4.25, $16.5, $2.5

The average jackpot was $7.3 million.

156 drawings a year and three jackpots hit seems kind of weak.

To date:

11 Jackpots

7 QP   63.6%

4 PS   36.3%

Total jackpot money paid oput to date: $88,500,000

27.3% more quick pick winners but 11 jackpots isn't really enough to determine any preponderence.

If Illinois does get Powerball it will be interesting to see if this game survives.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.
