Is the Classic Lotto prize pretty high for the game? No one hit the jackpot since August 2008.  I might drive down and buy a couple of tickets .

I've been playing MegaMillions but after it was hit Tuesday night, Classic Lotto at $15M with better odds seem like a better deal so I played 20 lines and matched 3 and 4 for $72.  I'll be skipping MegaMillions this Friday and putting my money on CL again Saturday.

If the same deal existed in Michigan, I wouldn't drive up there to get tickets but then I live in mid Ohio about 70 miles south of Toledo.   I use to drive up to play BigGame before MegaMillions came to Ohio.

RJoh, is the prize pretty big for the game?  is it near record high?

Yes it is since the jackpot starts at $1,000,000 and rolls about $200,000 after each drawing if no one wins.  It seldom get much beyond this amount before someone matches all six numbers.

On 7/2/08 it was $24.6 mill not sure if thats the record or not but I would say it is worth playing.

Well, was the 3 hours drive worth it?

                  I bought

                  $40 EZ Pick (Saturday Drawing)

$10 EZ Pick x 2 drawings (Saturday and Monday drawings)

                  and

$3 EZ Pick X 3 drawings.(Saturday, Monday and Wednesday drawings)

No one won yet and I still have today and Wednesday to go, no luck on Saturday :(

According to the OH State Lottery calculator:

                  $15.8 Million. $5,451,000 After taxes

                  or

                  $363,000 30-year annuity.

I think I would take Cash Option and put my money in the money market so I can live off of the interest :)  I rarely spend this much on lottery but I was heading to Ohio anyways.

I've never been a fan of EZ picks but I'm spending 26 of the $72 I won last Wednesday on today's drawing.  Wish me luck. :)

It could have been worst, you could have done what I did today and matched 3 for $2, then you would feel worst if you had to drive 3 hrs. to cash it in or download a claim form, fill it out and spend 42¢ for a stamp to mail it in.  I'm lucky, it's just a 5 min. trip for me.  Since both MM and CL jackpots are $16M, I think I'll skip MM tonight and play Classic Lotto again tomorrow.  Good luck to you and me.

                            Well SmoothJuice,

If you want to travel, you can come to Ohio again to play its Classic Lotto again since it continued to roll to $16.2M although I wouldn't know why unless you're planning on winning the jackpot.  Although Ohio Classic Lotto jackpots is larger than Michigan Classic Lotto jackpot, getting close to winning pays a lot more and it's easier.  Michigan CL is a 6/47 game and Ohio CL is a 6/49 game.  Michigan pays $2500 for a match5 and Ohio pays $1500, Michigan pays $100 for a match4 and Ohio pays $75 and Ohio pays $3 for a match3 and Michigan pays $5. Good luck what ever you do.

                              RJOh,

My brother's friend gave $100 Shell gas card to my brother and he refused it because there's no Shell station around his area.  He gave the gas card to me so now I will drive another 3 hours to Ohio and pick up some tickets. Free gas, yippee!

I like to play for the jackpot; I tend to ignore petty prizes(that why I don't play scratchers).
