Yesterday, a friend at work told me about the cap they put on 4 out of 5 rolldown. They maxed it out at 555 bucks.

I went to their site but couldn't find a reason why they did this. I think it's despicable.

Anyone know why they would do this other than the obvious? Saving money?

P***ed

Probably cause of the economy.. for years a single winner of FLA 5 got around 500,000 dollars...now the average is 200.000  There are less playing now so they capped it...and its getting worse and worse as the economy has no hope or change at all

FANTASY 5 is a pari-mutuel game. Actual prize amounts depend on sales and the number of winners in each prize category. All FANTASY 5 cash prizes are paid in a single cash payment. If there is no top prize winner, the money in the top prize pool rolls down, and is shared equally among winners in the 4-of-5 prize level, with a maximum prize of $555 per winner. If the available roll down exceeds the $555 per winner maximum in the 4-of-5 prize level, the excess funds in the prize pool rolls down and is shared equally among the winners in the 3-of-5 prize level. When a ticket with 2-of-5 winning numbers is redeemed, the gaming terminal will automatically print a free Quick Pick ticket for the next available drawing.

Appropriate federal income taxes will be withheld from FANTASY 5 prizes at the time payments are made.

I think that it is a great idea! If it rolls over and you have 4 of 5, you get $555 and don't have to pay taxes on it.

I don't think it's a great idea. I've seen the 4 out of 5 hit as high as 1200 bucks. Also, you do have to pay taxes, even though it's not enforced. Any gambling win is taxable and has to be reported.

Here in IL 4 out of 5 pays $100. If there's no 5/5 winner the money rolls over and I've seen the jackpot hit a million a few times. Great if you can hit all 5 but for 4 numbers I like your system better.
