For all of those who would just like to have the executable code, which creates a P3 model, I have uploaded the program to Skydrive, from where the program can be downloaded. Here is the link:

http://cid-53e66599b04974a6.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/P3%20Model

I have had many requests hoping for an Excel version, and I have to tell you that if you can run Excel, then running this program will be a snap.

Instructions for use:

1. The name of the program is createP3Model. The description of the program and examples of the output of the program can be found in the first Post.

2. Download createP3Model to a working folder.

3. In order to run the program, you need to have a P3 past draw file for the lottery you are considering. You have to create a text file(using Notepad, for example) with at least 50 past draws. The latest draw should be on top, and the oldest on bottom. One past draw to a line, no spaces or extra characters. Save and name the file drawsP3.txt. The file has to be saved to the same folder that contains the program. It's very important to get the past draw filename correct, otherwise the program will not run.

4. Once you have completed Step 3,  find the folder that contains the createP3Model, click on the folder name and then click on the createP3Model icon. You'll see a new screen appear and be prompted to enter the number of days for which you want to create the model. Type in any number less than or equal to 50 and hit the Enter key. The result will appear almost instantaneously. By entering any key, the program will exit.

That's it. If you have any questions please ask, and let's make this a community effort, meaning, if anyone wants to jump in and help anyone who's having trouble please do so.

      Thanks! When I get home from work, I will download this and try it out.

      CARBOB - Is that the exact error message? Did you name your file drawsP4.txt? If so, then rename it to drawsP3.txt

        I get an error msg "error in opening drawsP4.Txt"

        Solved it, renamed drawsP3.Txt to drawsP4.Txt and it works. No dtata in stats or selections, folders are empty. It did give a result that was shocking , the model was 0-1-5-7-8 and it produce 75 wins out of 100.

            Hi Carbob;

            Not so fast! There was really an error. I'm experimenting with a P4 model, and confused two different pieces of code.

            Here's the new link with the error corrected.

              I just got a PM from a member telling me of another error. This one is logical,  and it's very subtle, so you probably won't notice it.. I just corrected the error, and here you have the link to the corrected version.

              Thanks for all your help in getting this going.

                This program has gone through several changes already due to reported errors. Make sure you use the very last link to download.

                    Somehow this does not look right. Could you check your results against the actual last 10 draws in your draw file. For example, look at the first model in the list. Did this model snag all 10 winners?

                        Did you download file from the very latest Post. Make sure you did. Here's a simple test everyone could perform to make sure that the correct version was downloaded.

                        We'll work with a fixed set of past draws. Copy and paste the 50 draws below into Notepad and save as drawsP3.txt. Make sure the draw list is written to the same folder as the program. Run the program and enter 50 for a 50day model determination. Here's the result that you should get:

                        Best Model -> 4-5-6-7-8

                        Wheeling with this model would have produced

                        14 winners over the past 50 draws

                        Next - run the program again and enter 10 for a 10day model. Here's what you should get:

                        Best Model -> 0-2-3-5-9

                        Best Model -> 2-3-4-5-9

                        Best Model -> 2-3-5-7-9

                        Wheeling with this model would have produced

                        14 winners over the past 50 draws

                        If these results do not match the ones you get, then try downloading again, using the very latest link posted in this thread.

                          14 winners over the past 50 draws

                          Next - run the program again and enter 10 for a 10day model. Here's what you should get:

                          Best Model -> 0-2-3-5-9

                          Best Model -> 2-3-4-5-9

                          Best Model -> 2-3-5-7-9

                          Wheeling with this model would have produced

                          4 winners over the past 10 draws

                            Did you download file from the very latest Post. Make sure you did. Here's a simple test everyone could perform to make sure that the correct version was downloaded.

                            We'll work with a fixed set of past draws. Copy and paste the 50 draws below into Notepad and save as drawsP3.txt. Make sure the draw list is written to the same folder as the program. Run the program and enter 50 for a 50day model determination. Here's the result that you should get:

                            Best Model -> 4-5-6-7-8

                            Wheeling with this model would have produced

                            14 winners over the past 50 draws

                            Next - run the program again and enter 10 for a 10day model. Here's what you should get:

                            Best Model -> 0-2-3-5-9

                            Best Model -> 2-3-4-5-9

                            Best Model -> 2-3-5-7-9

                            Wheeling with this model would have produced

                            14 winners over the past 50 draws

                            If these results do not match the ones you get, then try downloading again, using the very latest link posted in this thread.
