I agree with tiggs. Americans are the most generous people in the world. We help others no matter what. Of course a jackpot would increase it a lot.

I will.  I do even now.  I did  it when I didn't have a job.  There is always someone worse off than I am.  I  must admit, it feels good to do something for someone else.  And I truly perfer to do it anonymously.

I give to charity even when I don't win.  They need support even when I don't.   Give Someone A Hug Today

The most I have ever won playing the lottory was $60 about ten years ago.  I gave to Nashville Union Mission before that win and after that win.  I will continure to donate to The Mission.  Winning the Powerball would just increase the amount I donate.

Hmm, interesting, the question was. "Do you give to charity or your place of worship when you win a significant amount of Money?"

I don't understand how some of you can't understand the question. I would assume that most people give to charity, My wife and I do on a regular basis, like today leaving the grocery store I threw some change in the salvation army's bucket and they guy said, Thank you! I've also done volunteer work.

We also donate clothing, toys etc. and cash yearly.

The question did not read "do you give to charity", I was just wondering if people give "more" when they have a windfall, that's all.

                          Morons.

                          Happy Thanksgiving.

I only see one moron in this thread and it's by the 'chest beating publican'.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                            Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

There was a story in the news last week about the head of United Way and how she had a salary of more than $300,000 and a retirement package of close to a million. That led to an investigation that discovered that most charities use most of the donations for salaries and administrative costs and less than 15% for the actual cause.

So no, I don't give to organized charities. I like to find someone in need and help them directly.

"...a chance to push everything aside, the circumstances that've controlled our lives, and do it our way now. Good, bad or otherwise. You'll maybe get lost in it, tied up in it a little bit, but if you work your way through that the real you shows up, I think. Maybe what's at your core deep down, maybe that comes out. Maybe that's what it's about." Mike Pace
