Would you at least put a dollar on the number? Strait and Boxed? I usually do, I forgot yesterday, but I will do it from now on. Keep it in mind, I know I will! Good Luck!

If I saw someone putting hundreds of dollars on a number I'd figure he either knows something or he's a nutjob. But I'd probably throw a couple bucks on it either way cuz I'm half nuts myself. I have seen many times, i met a older guy in Southfield, MI i saw him put 50.00bx on 1028, and

believe me that number fell, it blew my hair back. I met a guy in Romulus MI, and his granddaughter

told him to play 7343 off somebody's license plt.  he put 7.00str and the number fell.

If the time is right, i would go with 5 or 10.00 bucks  on the P4

Here's  one that  just happend  recently......I did not know the people.....but my good friend does

This  one  person  gives  their friend........50.00......to put on   412   the  Eve  draw  of   12/04/09    KY.

124  had hit  2 eves before......so their strategy was going for that number to come back  ( I would guess )

The  Friend  took the 50.00 and bought the tickets  .........as 412

( I am not sure if they played  them S/B or Straight )

The friend messes up somewhere in the  process

The draw comes in that evening......................412..........Dead  Straight.......person that  spent the 50.00 on the 412    is   extremely  excited

Until he checks closer and the 50.00 worth of tickets are for the  Mid  Day  draw that day.......not the evening draw  that day.........as he wanted

All I can think is....the  person  that gave the 50.00 knew the game well.....and the person that bought the tickets for him....didnt know the game that well.....or maybe the clerk hit the  wrong button......maybe he went in right before draw break and didnt make hisself understood  correct..........I have no idea

50.00 is  a  Lot to put on one number......if someone is gonna do that....better to buy them theirselves and check the correct number and draw time after doing so.....because in Ky...... Pick  3  tickets can be cancelled  up to half hour after buying....from what I understand

Maybe the person  spending  the  50.00  that  day  ,   couldnt get out......I dont know

An Honest mistake and a sad story to be sure

One more  quick  one........back in Summer of  2008......July  17th......Mid Draw......some out of towner walks into  a  Speedway  store  near here....and  plops down  50.00 on   444.....and leaves...........my friend  that works there sold him the tickets

You guessed it........... Mid  Day that very  Day...............    444

So it does happen....at least it turned out better than the recent   412    50.00  buy  above

As a craps dealer, I'll bet you saw your share of people making huge prop bets and as a player I saw that many times too. The first inclination is to bet something on it too, but the dice certainly don't know how much is riding the outcome. Over time if we make the same bet just because somebody bet a "100 dollar YO", the house edge will eat up all of our winnings.

With pick-3 numbers, it's slightly different because it's not that often we see someone make a huge bet on one straight number but at the end of the day the house edge is still against us by continuing to make those type of bets.

                Stack47,

Funny thing about the prop bets. I don't know how many times someone would be playing the props and all the "smart players" (AHEM!) would advise them they are making sucker bets and the props would keep hitting.

This makes no sense, but if you spend thousands of hours behind the tables you'll see things like a Horn bet parlay hit two and three times. People in the business say that the "naturals" run together,  2, 3, 11, and 12, leaving out the 7 in the case of a Horn bet.

A second-roll Yo, especially after coming out on a Hard 10, also seems to hit a lot.

                PRESS! PARLAY! MORE BEER!

Yeah, I know with lotto it's a lot more gutsy to bet a bunch, but "No guts no glory".

Many years ago I was rolling the dice at a little casino between the Stardust and the old Frontier betting $5 pass line bets with double odds and making two come bets, both with double odds. A guy next to me was betting $100 on the Field with an occasional $100 prop bet on 12 and "everybody knows" that the worst bet to make in a casino.

I lost count of the consecutive times I rolled 2, 3, 11, or 12 after getting my three points established, but I remember the last one because the guy had the table limit ($1000) bet on the 12. I swear I saw the pit boss and the casino manager crossing themselves and the box man was putting a hex on me before they gave me the dice. One die showed 6 and it was like slow motion watching the other die flip from 6 to 5. That would have been a $30,000 payoff and I saw the casino manager heading toward the rest room when the guy colored up.

I guess gambling is all about making the "wrong" bet at the right time.

Do you think I should I play 1-2-3-4-5 with 6 as the bonus ball in Powerball tonight?

                    Stack47,

You're a crap player indeed! Some bosses "sweat" the money, some "bleed" the money, sounds like those guys were bleeders. There's a saying, casinos have red carpets because the boses are bleeding the money.

Maybe play 1-2-3-4-5 bonus ball 7! California lo-ball it!

                    Who knows!

Sometimes I'll play 1-2-3-4-5 on Pick 5 as a "sacrifice bunt" and make the next game box a QP to see what happens with the QP.

I had a couple of friends who could tell you a story or two about their experience behind some guy buying 50 bucks or so worth of tickets straight and coming out. One of my friends who experienced this for the first time did not follow through and buy any tickets. Ooooops !

I've never experienced being behind anyone, but after what happened to me about 6 or 7 years ago would definitely make me want to buy atleast 20 tickets if I saw a guy in front of me purchasing a lot of tix.

                      This story is strange.

At the time, about 6 years or so ago, I was under another name here at the LP, and I had amongst other systems, A steve Player system that tracked the p-3 lottery like a graph at the Stock Market. It was the best system ever, at the time, and may still be....

But before opening this new SP system, I found 3 sets of p-3 numbers that have never come out since the game's inception in Florida for 12 years or whatever. I forget 2 of the 3 numbers which I played for 2 weeks with no success so I gave up. But the fatefull number I won on was 984 which was oneof the 3 sets that had naver come out.. This will be explained later.

Anyways....This system I had recently bought from Steve was an improvement on a similar system I already had, and so I hadn't opened it yet. It lay in the box for about a week. So now it's Sunday, I'm off from work and my employer is also my tenant. I was bored, so I decided to open the box and do the charts in the system. I believe I did a past 30 days chart with the different colored magic marker lines going up and down for each number in the p-3 for a straight tracking, just like stock market lines. After finishing the tracking I realized that the number 984 was overdue. This was remarkable. Just a week earlier, I saw that 984 had never come out in Florida. I said it was just a coincidence. But then something happened.

I realized that there were 3 red flags here and I'd have to heed these warnings.

First red flag: I found 984 a week prior to have never come out in Florida.

Second red flag: It was the same number 984, overdue according to the Steve Player graph.

Third red flag: Up until that day I hadn't opened the new system up making me think that there was a reason for opening that package on this day that everythiong just came together. Call it Synchronicity.

So I show this to my landlord/employer/roommate...lol

He's always made fun of my detailed attention to the p-3 and didn't stop on this occassion either, despite the overwhelming flags. I explained everything to him like I'm doing now, and he still thought I was over thinking. I also told him that I was gonna buy about 100 bucks worth of tickets. As I was leaving to the store I convinced him to buy at least a buck so he wouldn't kick himself in the butt the next day.

When I arrived at the store, I was hesitant and chickened out. I only bought 6 tix straight and one for my boss. Half way back I pulled over and said to myself..... what I did by chickening out was bad and I should turn around and go back and play at least 20 bucks more, but I didn't.

The next morning I hear a beating on my bedroom door so loud I thought the house was on fire and my boss was warning me. I said what the heck!!! All I could hear at the top of his lung was that we won on 984. He actually thought I had woken up earlier and rigged his computer with graphic software to make it show that we won. But I assured him that he went to the florida official site and there is no way for me to alter it.

I opened up the door still in a haze and forgot about yesterday's purchase. He reiterated about the win and it hit me. I was screaming and jumping up and down. I had won $3,000 and he won 500...lol

Till this day, I keep kicking myself in the butt for not going back for another 20 tix, or even worse, not buying the original 100 tix.

So the moral of the story is.....Don't waste any time wondering if the guy standing in front of you in line buying 50 tix is a crack pot. JUST DO IT !!!...lol

I have never seen someone else win who played several of the same number. Most often you see a pile of discarded tickets near the waste basket with the cigarette ad on it, all with the same number, and that wasn't even close to what came out.

The reason people do this is to avoid having to File Claim. I have even had Store clerks question why I put $1.00 on one instead of 2 for .50, or on Pick-4 doing STR/BOX together, saying I'd have to pay tax withholding if I win. Your odds are 1000 to 1 on the 3 and 10000 to 1 on the 4, but on the 4 you get about 10x the prize, but on the 4 you always have to File Claim because it's over $600. If you consider the take-out is 50 percent even before taxes, then another 1/3 off the remainder for the tax itself, your algorithm on the 4 has to be a lot stronger to overcome all that. If/when anyone does win that way, they have to go to several different Stores or trips to collect, 1. to avoid the withholding and 2. because often the clerk doesn't have enough cash on hand to pay! Even on 1 ticket I have been told to "come back later" with it for payment.

It IS better to have one really strong number to play than several different ones. Only 1 number wins STR, so your plays should be in harmony with that, i.e. play multiple, or play the Pairs portion of your primary # if available, that you aren't betting against yourself!

There are lots of people who play a large amount on the same number. If you think it makes sense to play that number, what do you do if two of those people happen to be in front of you? Are you going to play both numbers, when it's obvious that there's not any chance at all that  they're both playing the number that will win?

Would you at least put a dollar on the number? Strait and Boxed? I usually do, I forgot yesterday, but I will do it from now on. Keep it in mind, I know I will! Good Luck!

My minimum is $.50str./$.50box on any P4,  my maximum is $15.00 straight and $5.00 box on a single number P4.  If it looks like it may drop due to date or lead up I may go higher.

I only play straight P3 one number $2 to $5 worth.  For eg. I am waiting for 193 to drop in Md., if it looks unlikely $1-2,  if it looks likely $3-$5,  but I will only play it str. 193 no box on P3.

I don't play other peoples hunches waiting in line,  but if somebody asks for numbers.........I give the my opinion for that draw.

I told some on the other day if you don't do anything else play 3296 Str/Box .50/.50 every day in MD. as long as you can,  at a dollar a day if it hits either within 50 days you'll make your money back,  if it hits str.........................that is a good hit.

                            SantaHO! HO! HO!

Wow, that was a good Story, thanks for sharing it!! I hope you win much more. I think I will play your 984 could be a good number here for Ohio! It hasn't been out yet.
