I did a backtest for Pennsylvania "Dueness" and was courious about other states so I selected Florida combined draws.

I've been looking at Libra Dave's method of "Dueness Index" for the Florida Pick 3 Combined Midday & Evening draws.

To calculate the Duesness:

1.  Calculate the Total Number of Hits in your states Pick 3 game.  I'm testing this using all 8,737  Florida Pick 3 Combined Draws

For example, the combination 000 has hit 7 times in 8,737 draws.  So the average is 1248.14

2.  Next, I calculate the current skip since the combinations hit.  In the example 000 the current skip is currently at 1765.  Which hit on June  5, 2007.

3.  To calculate the "Dueness Index" take the "Current Skip" 1765 and divide it by the "Average" of 1248.14 which gives you a "Dueness Index" of 1.41410

==========================================================================================================

I've been back-testing the "Dueness Index" for the last 12 segments.  A segment is a total of 7 draws.  Almost every segment a combination with a "Dueness Index" of between 0.80000 to 0.89999 has hit.

Last week (Segment 12) 539 hit with a "Dueness Index" of 0.83232 (Saturday, April 24 2010 - Evening Drawing)

Segment 11 - No Winners (Monday, April 19, 2010 Midday - Thursday, April 22, 2010 Midday)

Segment 10 - No Winners (Thursday, April 15, 2010 Evening - Sundayy, April 18, 2010 Evening)

Segment 9 - 901 hit with a "Dueness Index" of .84983 Monday, April 12, 2010 Evening (Monday, April 12, 2010 Midday - Thursday, April15 , 2010 Midday)

Segment 8 - No Winners (Thursday, April 8, 2010 Evening - Sundayy, April 11, 2010 Evening)

Segment 7

365 hit with a "Dueness Index" of .83621 Thursday, April 8, 2010 Midday

438 hit with a "Dueness Index" of 085991 Monday, April 5, 2010 Evening

333 hit wiht a "Dueness Index" of .82614 Monday, April 5, 2010 Midday

(Monday, April 5, 2010 Midday - Thursday, April 8 , 2010 Midday)

Segment 6 - 192 hit with a "Dueness Index" of .80691 Sunday, April 4, 2010 Midday (Thursday, April 1, 2010 Evening - Sunday, April 4 , 2010 Evening)

Segment 5 - No Winners (Monday, March 29, 2010 Midday - Thursday, April 1, 2010 Midday)

Segment 4 - 166 hit with a "Dueness Index" of .88978 Sunday, March 28, 2010 Midday (Thursday, March 25, 2010 Evening - Sunday, March 28 , 2010 Evening)

Segment 3 - 136 hit with a "Dueness Index" of .81103 Wednesday, March 24, 2010 Midday (Monday, March 22, 2010 Midday - Thursday, March 25 , 2010 Midday)

Segment 2 - 583 hit with a "Dueness Index" of .87765 Saturday, March 20, 2010 Midday (Thursday, March 18, 2010 Midday - Sunday, March 21 , 2010 Evening)

Segment 1 - No Winners (Monday, March 15, 2010 Midday - Thursday, March 18, 2010 Midday)

=============================================================

9 Hits in 12 Segments.  Segment 7 had 3 hits.  Segments 1, 5, 8, 10 and 11 had no hits.

I figured that you would need to play a large number of combinations but for this week the total number of combinations with a "Dueness Index" between 0.80000 and 0.89999 totals 48 combinations.

These are 48 Straight plays not Boxed Plays.  So 48 combinations out of 1000 total combinations.

Here is the list for this segment 13: Monday, April 26, 2010 Midday through Thursday, April 29, 2010:

Test this for the next 7 draws.

I created the list from the "Dueness Index" calculations.

Florida Midday for Monday April 26, 2010

536

Total Hits before today drawings was 11

"Dueness Index" was 0.14225 before todays Midday drawing

Skip was 113 - Last hit February 28, 2010 Evening Drawing

Were looking for HITS from combinations with a "Dueness Index" from 0.80000 to 0.89999

Close but no cigar for todays Midday draw.

Thanks as usual for your efforts and will be watching these closely.

I downloaded the sheet and am not ashamed to admit , I havent a clue how you would come up with the "next" list when this one expires..

I got as far as entering the next draw LOL

I pushed the buttons and saw things happening, but how did you arrive at the segmented list..

WSLS, another awesome sheet, downloaded the sheet for pa and FL, is there a quicker way to get the draws imported for MO before I delete the draws for sheets I downloaded and start inputting again.

Carli,

Wait until the 7th drawing is completed which is this Thursday April 29, 2010 Midday drawing.

Just keep adding the draws to the "Draws" Tab by clciking the Toolbar "Click To Add New Drawing".  When the Midday drawing from April 29, 2010 is entered.  Go to the Tab labled "Pick3Dueness" and in cell B4 enter the number 20.  Then go to the Tab labeled "Pick3HitSkipChart" and enter the number 27 in cell B4.

Go back to the Tab labeled "Pick3Dueness" and scroll over to cell range CI3 through CN10.  Copy and Paste range CI4 through CN10 to cell range DA14 through DF20.  Copy > Paste Special > Values.

Go to the Tab labeled"Pick3HitSkipChart" and go to cell B7 and C7.  You can keep the same values 0.80000 and 0.89999.  In cell C9 will tell you how many combinations there are based on the "Dueness Index" values in B7 and C7 which for now is 48 total combinations.  The values should probably stay the way they are unless you see a range that is worthwhile and also manageable.  In the Tab labeled "Pick3Dueness" scroll over to cell column CY through DF.  This is where I backtested Florida's past draws.  You can see in cells DF26, DF30, DF59 etc. I highlighted the cells that has a "Dueness Index" of  0.80000 and 0.89999.  This appeared to be a good "Dueness Index" range to play.

Finally, you go to the Tab labeled "Pick3HitSkipChart".  In cell range B12 through F1011 I copied and pasted the values to cell range BS through BV then sorted column BS where you see all the "1"s in this column.  These were the 48 combinations that have a "Dueness Index" of 0.80000 through 0.89999.  I then sorted the combinations in cell range BX through CG and posted these combinations in this thread.

I know all this sounds confusing but keep adding the Florida draws in the "Draws" Tab and come Thursday after the Midday draw I'll explain more in detail.

Best,

Use the Florida Excel file.

No easy way to import the draws other than copy and pasting the Missouri draws into the Florida "Draws" tab.  Save and change the name of the Excel file to Pick3DuenessMissouri for example.  You may need to delete the excess Florida draws at the bottom or if Missouri has more Pick 3 draws you will need to drag the formulas down to the last entry for Missouri.

If you need help let me know.  I can help you tomorrow.
