I have a lottery pool at work with 13 coworkers.  We play a mix of Powerball and Louisiana Lotto tickets.  We do a combo of numbers we picked and quickpicks.  We've won small amounts of money here and there, but haven't won a jackpot yet.  It's fun to do, I enjoy it a lot.

I did in the past, but when I began to see and hear the extremes that people would go through to keep you from sharing in the winnings of a ticket, I stopped.  I know how to spend and invest money on my own. I don't need nobody attempting to keep me from my share of the winnings because they have the ticket in their possession.

Maybe I should just stop doing this from the sound of it.

victor that might be a good idea..If and when you hit you can send your friend some money if you so desire..Good luck and hope you win soon..

I'm sure you guys can work something out since you both enjoy doing this together. Just make it to where it's fair for both of you financially because money is always the deal breaker in the end...

It's not worth a healthy friendship.

If your friend thinks it's a good idea for you to buy lottery tickets with his numbers and split your winnings with him even if he pays nothing, why should the opinions of a few people at LP matter?

i share tickewts with a group of 4 other pals. i also share tickets with  some family memebrs.

the 2 groups play diff numbers.  and we all put in our fair share.

I also play my own numbers, but have started to go halves with a pal, we g halves in that also.

what does it matter if hes getting a good deal, if you aRE HAPPY  with the arrangemet?

now if you end the arrangement, im guessing you're up fr a big win the week after.and  the fun should start then.

no its not a good idea to pay the whole  lot and go halves with someone. unless its your wife or family.

and thats only after a court order to go halves.

bottom line i wouldnt do it, but its your money your choice.

#1) No i do not play the Lottery with Friends. My mother and i do play but we split the cost and we split the winnings. She only lives 1/2 mile from me. We get together face to face and select our numbers.

#2) I have to listen to my dad say "A fool and his money are soon parted." I just laugh because he likes to go to the casino and when i quote him he does not like it. LoL, we get along great.

#3) Here's the biggie, As seen on the main Page of Lottery Post. "An elderly Connecticut woman does not have to share her half of a $500,000 lottery windfall with her sister who sued her over it, a judge ruled Wednesday."

I play lotto with my friend who lives in Oaklahoma city. I play with him via webcam. He doesn't pay for anything buy I let him choose the numbers and I pay. We have a mutual agreement on how we will be splitting the number when we win. What about you guys? Do you guys play with friends?

In my case, we  (my husband and some family members) used to have a lottery pool but everyone paid $1/2.00 depending on the Jackpot prize.  I also had the pool sheets with the numbers we choose and the name of each member.  my husband who used to buy the tickets, provided us with a copy of the numbers played.

Victor, I Agree! with My other LP friends..I believe it's not fear for you to put all the money to buy the tickets..because if you win Big..he is going to be the first one claiming the prizeShocked..no no noSmash

Maybe it is good that I don't have any friends.  ;-)  To be blunt, you are being taken advantage of.....They are supplying numbers and you are not only fronting the $, you are the one physically going to get the ticket.  Cut your ties now.

Actually, I play at different times at different places, I want to keep a low profile and don't want to get unnecesary parties involved. I know who I will share the winnings with (they don't know, but they will).  I have a list of the charities and % of winnings donated to each.  I will share my winnings with my immediate blood relatives (only 8 people in this category) and the long "lost" friends and relatives can take hike.

If I wasn't good enough to be around or know before the win, I ain't much better after the win.

If my answer seem short and to the point, there's a reason for it.

Some years ago when Ohio Rolling Cash5 jackpot was nearing $500K, a thread about it was very active and one post from a LP member (who's no longer active) in California who said he usually played RC5 when its jackpot was high through his sister by wiring her money to buy tickets until she recently moved from Ohio caught my attention.

I thought since I was planning to spend $20 on tickets, I could afford to spend half of it helping a fellow LP member and maybe myself too and posted if he would PM me up to 10 lines before the drawing, I would buy them at no cost to him and split any winnings minus the cost of the tickets with him.

He PM me that he usually sent 80-100 lines to play for different games and he usually got a gratuity of $50-$100 before sending those numbers depending on the game. That's when I learned LP members who want to PM numbers to other members aren't their friends but scam artists.  If they want to share their numbers they will post them on the predictions board or a thread for everyone to see.
