    Tune: Teenager in Love

Oh every time I check my tickets

every time I watch them draw

    I check the numbers

and wonder what I'm playing for

I stop and ask the skies up above

Why must I be a lotto player with no luck

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

    Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Sittin' in a tiny table in a ritzy restaurant
She was starin' at her coffee cup
He was tryin' to keep his courage up
            By applyin' booze

And talk was small when they talked at all
They both knew what they wanted
There was no need to talk about it
They were old enough to scope it out
            And keep it loose

She said, "You don't look like my type
            But I guess you'll do"
            Third rate romance
            Low rent rendezvous
And he said, "I'll even tell you that I love you
            If you want me to"
            Third rate romance
            Low rent rendezvous

            When they left the bar
            They got in his car
            And they drove away
He drove to the family inn
She didn't even have to pretend
            She didn't know what for

And he went to the desk
            And made his request
            While she waited outside
Then he came back with the key
She said, "Give it to me
            And I'll unlock the door"

            She kept saying
"I've never really done this kind of thing before, have you?"
            Third rate romance
            Low rent rendezvous
And he said, "Yes I have
But only a time or two"
            Third rate romance
            Low rent redezvous
            Third rate romance

I'd mention "She's too fat for me" Polka but I think that would be insensitive and politically incorrect, so I won't.

What's wrong with those Polish people?

When did you stop loving me
How long have I been a memory
I've got to know for my own sanity
Tell me when did you stop loving me

Was it that night that you stayed out until dawn
You know that night has haunted me for so long
Or was your love already cold
Tell me please I've got to know
Darling, when did you stop loving me

There was a time when you worshiped where I stood
Heaven knows I'd bring it back if I could
I can tell when we make love
It aint me you're thinking of
Tell me when did you stop loving me
Darling, when did you stop loving me

I don't know, rdgrnr. I went to school in a town with a large Polish population.

Dated a girl named Styzycyck. That got to be too hard to explain all the time so her family "Anglicized" the name to Stickno! I'm not kidding.

There was another family, four people, all four spelled their own last name differently.

The first thing I remember knowing,
                        Was a lonesome whistle blowing,
                        And a young un's dream of growing up to ride;
On a freight train leaving town,
                        Not knowing where I'm bound,
No-one could change my mind but Mama tried.

                        One and only rebel child,
From a family, meek and mild
My Mama seemed to know what lay in store.
                        Despite all my Sunday learning,
Towards the bad, I kept on turning.
'Til Mama couldn't hold me anymore.

And I turned twenty-one in prison doing life without parole.
No-one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried.
Mama tried to raise me better, but her pleading, I denied.
That leaves only me to blame 'cuz Mama tried.

Dear old Daddy, rest his soul,
                        Left my Mom a heavy load;
She tried so very hard to fill his shoes.
                        Working hours without rest,
Wanted me to have the best.
She tried to raise me right but I refused.

And I turned twenty-one in prison doing life without parole.
No-one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried.

If LP was a brick and mortar place imagine the juke box we'd have!

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.
