Thoght I'd share this reduction method and get some input.........saw it on an old LP post and adapted it slightly for my needs. Just tracking it at the moment and haven't played yet so here it is and an example on how well it can work (sometimes). The first 3 steps are the ones I use, and steps 4 and 5 are to reduce the numbers further but obviously with less accuracy.
1) Eliminate numbers occurring 2 times in a row in the last 10 Draws
2) Eliminate numbers occurring 3 or more times in the last 10 Draws
3) Eliminate numbers occurring 7/8 or more times in the last 45 Draws (or the amount of numbers in the Draw e.g. for a 6/49 game you would use the last 49 Draws)
4) For further reduction, you can then eliminate numbers occurring 7 times in the last 45 draws
5) For further reduction, you can then eliminate numbers occurring 6 times in the last 45 draws
Example using recent powerball history for South Africa, only showing the last 10 draws, most recent at the top (and including duplicate numbers for demonstration purposes, also I use covermaster to check occurences:
10,15,16,22,36
9,11,17,35,38
4,14,26,34,44
1,17,18,19,44
3,7,16,21,40
3,15,25,32,38
16,22,28,30,31
4,1,3,5,40
10,19,16,1,5
31,33,36,40,42
Step 1 (starting from the bottom line) eliminates 1, 5, 3 44
Step 2 eliminates 1, 3, 16, 40
Step 3 (using last 45 Draws) eliminates 1, 9, 23, 40, 42, 44
Step 4 eliminates 2, 30, 33
Step 5 eliminates 3, 7, 8, 15, 16, 19, 21, 25, 31
So going through all 5 steps eliminates 19 numbesr leaving 26 to play.Using the first 3 steps only generally has the most accurate results but usually only eliminates 9-12 numbers. The results in last nights powerBall draw? 13, 28, 32, 35, 36 so all 5 numbers are in the 26 left over :-)
Would be interesting to see if and how well this would do in other lotteries, and what other people would add/take away to make it more effective?
