In 1987 Kansas first Scratch Off game was Called Up and Away. It made The Kansas Lottery over $7 million.

    I think California's first scratcher was a $1.00 ticket called "The Big Spin". If the playing field had 3 matching dollar amounts, you won that amount. If it had 3 "Draw" terms, you would mail it in for a chance to be on the Big Spin. If you had 3 "Spin"s, you were on your way to Hollywood to spin the Big Wheel, and the chance to win 3 million bucks!

      Virginia's was called "Match 3". It went on sale Sep. 20, 1988. On the first day 5.5 million tickets were sold, with an estimated 91 players winning $5,000. Amazingly, 36.2 million tickets were sold in the first week!
