As for your questions -

1.  what ever bank that you want to deposit it to.  Don't know of any who would cash a check that size.

2.  see answer above

3.  I am surprised to see no one posting this photo of $250 Million.

4.  Depends on the type of account/CD/investment that you can find.

i can see the pic when i reply but cant see it on the forum.

i think i remember seeing that pic before...was it from a drug bust?

Nah, it's from when Pac finally got his pi & tic-tac-toe systems working. Embarassed

In neo-conned Amerika, bank robs you.
Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms should be the name of a convenience store, not a govnoment agency.

Welcome to Lottery Post! Hope you find these forums useful for game stradegy or just some feedback.

1: Banks require electronic transfer when dealing with amounts over 250,000. Thus the State lottery would have to do the transfer to a verified account within the United States. If from out of country winner, same rule applies it must transfer to a State account Held by an executor and then from there thru the International banking System.

2: Safes can be built and firproofed as well noted by the casino systems and bank systems.

3: Many people would carry a vested interest, especially financial advisors and lawyers...and ex spouses...oy!

4: No worries the odds are not in your favor to have such a problem, but if ya ever do come upon that problem, the quickest way to solve it is to advertise it. Lotsa people think they know what is best to do with the money...yet few know how to handle it....

It technically takes 14 to 21 days to verify thru the SEC the transfer of funds to an individual account in order to utilize...when its in the 250k and over....They audit the bank and the account holder for accuracy, ohh and Uncle Sam comes first!

Welcome to the boards, OP.  First of all, don't let nay-sayers get you down.  yes, the odds aren't in your favor, but someone has to win!  Why can't it be you (or me)?  Think positively!

Second, does it really take 14-21 days to get your lottery winnings?  Really?  Gosh, I feel like a moron.  Everytime i visualize or daydream, I just assume I'll walk out with a check!!  So, for 2-3 weeks, you're broke, especially if you quit your job?

        Here's a few diagrams:

A packet of one hundred $100 bills is less than 1/2" thick and contains $10,000. Fits in your pocket easily and is more than enough for week or two of shamefully decadent fun.

Believe it or not, this next little pile is $1 million dollars (100 packets of $10,000). You could stuff that into a grocery bag and walk around with it.

While a measly $1 million looked a little unimpressive, $100 million is a little more respectable. It fits neatly on a standard pallet.

        And $1 BILLION dollars… now we’re really getting somewhere…

Next we’ll look at ONE TRILLION dollars. This is that number we’ve been hearing so much about. What is a trillion dollars? Well, it’s a million million. It’s a thousand billion. It’s a one followed by 12 zeros. You ready for this? It’s pretty surprising. Ladies and gentlemen… I give you $1 trillion dollars:

Q.) how much space would 100 million dollars take up? in $100 bills.  A.) 39.9 cubic feet. Including the pallet itself, the stack in Badboy'spicture is a hair under 3.5 feet on each side, and 4 feet high. As an alternative, you can keep it in a couple of old refrigerators, and still have room for a case of beer

Bonus answer: 2040 pounds, 13 ounces.

I'm assuming that you're fastidious and the money is spottlessly clean and has been vacuum packed.

If you win a jackpot somebody will be glad to loan you a few bucks while you wait for the money. IIRC, when Jack Whittaker won about $113 million (cash value) the WV lottery cut a check for $10 million before he left, and I think he claimed fairly soon after the drawing.

Claim and cash in hand are two separate actions. Each carrying separate time frames. ...

So no, do not quit your day job if thinking the next day you are rich, you arent rich til the money /funds are officially in your account and cleared for transactions...(unless you were way rich before hand...then you probably werent really working anyways )

"...a chance to push everything aside, the circumstances that've controlled our lives, and do it our way now. Good, bad or otherwise. You'll maybe get lost in it, tied up in it a little bit, but if you work your way through that the real you shows up, I think. Maybe what's at your core deep down, maybe that comes out. Maybe that's what it's about." Mike Pace

The Beverly Hillbillies did a great job answering these kind of questions.  In other words, take your jackpot check to the Commerce Bank of Beverly Hills and deposit it with Bank President Milburn Drysdale.
