Just curious what others like to use to scratch off your cards, if anything.

Do you like any particular lucky penny, nickel, quarter, dollar, or other object or scraper to scratch off the cards?

These little scratcher games are very addictive, so I like to spend as little time as possible in the act of actually scratching. I like to use a Sac Golden Dollar, since it is pretty big and takes off large swaths of junk at a time, and also is smooth edge instead of reeded edge, so it scrapes off cleaner than quarters or even larger coins with reeded edge. But I'm sure there are better tools or methods out there.

Thanks for the tip, I didn't even think of using the Dollar coin, I'll try that

I currently rotate between 3 lucky quarters that I have,  one problem is that they can get caught up in the other loose change so if I get some lucky wins with a dollar coin I would stick with it and make that my primary coin.  The quarters I have all won decent amounts. It started with a 50.00 win on ticket 86 and I noticed the coin was 1986 that became my first lucky coin.  It continues to win.  But if I get a few losers, I might switch to my 1996 coin and I have a 1985 as well.   All 3 coins have provided great wins so I just keep rotating them.  I don't keep super accurate records but try to keep some track and the 1985 coin is actually has had the most winners of the 3.

I've tried penny, dime and nickel and didn't like any.  I found  3 pennies on the groun 1 heads up so used it a couple times because I heard it was lucky when it's heads up but didn't win so went back to my quarters.  I also tried a CVS store card, because one time, I didnt' have my quarters but couldn't wait, the CVS got me a 100.00 win but I used that a few more times with no wins and it wasn't easy to use so I don't want to use any plastic cards to scratch.

Usually a quarter, especially a Canadian quarter if I get one in change, unless a penny is found heads up.

Sometimes one of those "scratcher scratchers" that the lottery gives out at the state fair.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

The other day a clerk gave me an official CA Lottery keyring scratcher tool.

Pretty cool, scratches very well I must say, and comfortable too. But I still stick with my dollar coin because I usually scrape the whole card clean and that can do a quicker job. The official plastic tool is great for small spot scratching, but I'd rather have the larger radius to scrape off more with each swipe. Any others have this kind of tool?

Man I didnt even think about that. Will have to try next time. Anytime i have a unique win (symbols, high amounts, etc) I usually scratch the whole thing!
