I went out and lost another generous sum of $$$. These "instant losers" are corrupting my heart one ticket at a time. Instant sorrow. Instant HOSTILITY.
That's what my roommate tells me, that I should be angry at myself. But, I can't help but feel like there's something so manipulative and predatory about the Lottery. It has it's claws in me. Utterly vile and repulsive. Remorseless.
falster - you're crazy! Just kidding.
For a lot of the people in this world who don't have a lot of money, gambling is hope. Hope can be dangerous, but some people need it, for some people it's really all they have or at least the only thing that keeps them going. It's so easy to come on here, and see people win. It's easy to think your next. It's frustrating when you go take a whoopin at the local convince store and come back to see a few members posting nice wins.
The lottery can be addicting, for whatever reason. People can be addicted to the hope they have each time they buy one. People can just have addictive personalities and the lottery is their current addiction. I never gamble more than I can afford to lose. I sometimes gamble more than I'd like to lose, but never more than I can afford to lose. The lottery, as I've said, has been harsh to me for the last 12 to 18 months. Getting back anything over face value has become pretty exciting, when before I only felt that way about $500 winners. I've had runs of the $30 tickets where 5 in a row were losers.
My advice is to stay away from the scratchers. They are way too easy to start chasing wins. If it is all about that hope or chance of that life changing payout, stick to the weekly powerball or mega millions tickets. Set a limit, that won't put your livelihood in jeopardy and stick with it. If that means $20 or $30 a month, then spend your $20 or $30 a month and be done with it. The thing to remember is that these systems are designed to profitable, the lottery MAKES money... not loses it. So when they say that many will play and few will win, that's the truth. For every big winner, there is an ocean of losers. The odds just aren't with you or anyone else.

Since dr rarely posts now, I think you do the best here from PA. So I would like to try in your area. I don't go that way, but could make a special trip. You are in West Chester, or Malvern? Overall I think this lottery has gone downhill for sure.
I'm in Thorndale area. near exton.
yeah dr65 doesn't post much anymore but sure if she's
playing she's winning. good luck matt if you come this way.

I lost all my money for the next 102 hours. Four days +6 hours.
I started out 1-of-2 on the $30 California Gold, then I got a free ticket on the 3rd one. Now I've lost 6 in a row. Out of the 9 I've played, 7 were losers.
One Ticket, one $40.00, and 7 losers, 6 consecutively.
The lottery has a way of devaluing my dollars. It's depraved, reprehensible, vulgar and despicable. The Lott-o siphons money from me, rapidly leading into triple digits--but how often do you go without a $100 winner? The bloody tickets cost $20-$30 dollars--why can't you win even FIFTY dollars sometimes? Soulless

...not just the scarcity of the $100, but the $1000 and up claim prizes, too. I'm down 50k over 3-4 years of playing. If you count the prizes I won and reinvested, it would be more like 70k. I'm generalizing, but I would estimate that out-of-pocket expense to be about 50k, at least. Between all the check advances and credit cards (which I never paid back) and $11,000.00 annual income (of which I probably devote two-thirds to buying Scratchers), it's concerning that I've only gotten one 1k winner.
I didn't expect to really WIN, but what they are doing is reaping players' pocketbooks.

Quit playing high dollar tickets.
If you must play, play $1 and $2 tickets. And not a boatload of them. Play one a day, max.
You get the thrill of playing and if you lose, you don't feel despondent. If you win, you feel good.
You're mad at the lottery, but YOU are the one blowing hundreds of dollars. Go back and see how many here have won just playing 1 and done.

I remember Matt and Chris hitting 10X symbols in the 20's on the $5 100K club. I saw 2 packs in the mid 20's and played them and got $5 under a 10X on both. Matt's # was 22, Chris was 24 and mine were 26 and 28.. strange to be all the even #'s. Also found 2-5X's@$20 a piece on the $20 Fortune for $200 total(025).. On the day I am up $100, so I can't complain. I may debate a new $20 roll again thinking the $1000's should be hitting soon. He didn't get any in today, but should have some tomorrow.

So I stopped over this morning for the new tickets, but they weren't in yet. I told him yesterday I wanted the highest pack # that you get. One guys gets low, so I figured I would go high. He prints a report and shows it to me. I tell him to look at the last(highest) #.. I said it was a sign and that def needs to be my pack. I have $300 in winnings, so I know that even if it sucked(50% return), I wouldn't have to hit the ATM.. I will play it tonight and let everyone know. Think it may be a good one?

Well it had 10 winners and paid back $320. 3rd roll(2 of mine + someone else) that I know paid back $320. My previous $20 rolls on other games have been $340. Seems they are holding back $20 a pack or so to help pay for the abundance of $1000's. I did have 8 losers in a row and didn't get a $100 winner. I had 3-$50's and then a bunch of 30/20's.
I am sure the guy who got the low # pack will pull a $1K, cause that is my luck. Yeah well no regrets. I had $300 put aside so when I pay him tomorrow, maybe that extra $20 leftover will net me a $1k.

Oh my God, good luck to you omiller315.
Cool how Pennsylvania does that, it seems like there's a lot of lottery players in the state for there to be winners up to $2500. You still have to pay income tax though, right? Still, it's encouraging, a nice amenity for the players.
Actually, now I remember all those $1k prizes that were put on the retailer's wall in your pictures, (the $3,000,000 too...) there were quite a few! You guys like to play out there in PA. That's cool.

No it is a $1,000 winner.
Row 1 equals $100
Row 2 equals $120
Row 3 equals $140
Row 4 equals $140
Added together it equals $500 and the bonus game where he matches the 2 amounts equals $500 for $1,000. The 2 500 are not added together just match the 2 like amounts and win the prize.
