There have been posts something along these lines several times. There seem to be two basic variations. In one you're asked to make several arithmetic calculations which are intended to keep you from noticing that you're just subtracting your age from the current year to try and convince you that there's something special when the result is the year you were born in. This is the other variation, where we're presumably supposed to be surprised that the same basic calculation has the same result for most of us. Both variations usually include the amazing fact that "it only works this year!" In reality it works the same way every year, simply by changing the appropriate number. Perhaps next year we'll see a post asking us to take the 112 test, and a while later we'll be asked to take the 113 test. At least with this year the number is a triple, but that's still not a one time event, as it happens in every year ending in 11.

The problem with having that triple as a result is that a lot of people won't get that answer. Most of us were born before 2000, so adding the 2 digit year we were born in and our ages add up to 100, plus the number of years since 2000. The result for anyone who was born in 2000 or later will only be 11. The extremely few people who were born before 1900 and are still around would get 211, except that they're asked to subtract 100 from their age before adding it.

FWIW, the page cited also makes the presumably amazing, but incorrect claim that this year October will have 5 Saturdays, 5 Sundays, and 5 Mondays and that it only happens every 823 years. In reality it happens at least every 11 years, and can repeat in as little as 5 years. The extra day in leap years results in some days missing from an orderly rotation (i.e. consecutive years could be S, M, T, Th, F, Sa, S, T, W, Th, F, S, M), which means a day can repeat in 5 or 6 years (2 or 1 intervening leap years, respectively), or because it is missed it can take 11 years to repeat (Tuesday, Sunday and Monday in the preceding example). The number of years between repeats will always follow the pattern 5, 6, 11, 6, 5, 6, 11, 6.

If you add the age you will be this year to the last two digits of the year you were born it will always be 111.

Also four unusual calendar dates will happen / already has happened this year. They are

1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11

I don't think this has ever happened before and will probaly never happen again. Maybe there is some significance to these dates...perhaps the Quad " 1111 " will hit somewhere this year.

yes he did, My son was born in 99 he will always be as old as the year it is. kinda neat.

take the age you will be on yur birthday this year and you should get 111 i take it you have not had a birthday yet

Quad 1111 Hit in New York Midday today May 4th 2011!!!

I'm upset I missed it I was playing it for Midday and Evening the past couple of weeks, but then dropped it and started playing it for Evening only! Ny was more overdue for a Quad to hit Evening thats why I dropped it for Evening only. I should have just played Midday and Evening to be on the safe side! Maybe NY will get another Quad for the Evening this year I hope. All other states watch for the 1111 to hit just in case it travels!
