I've sen this game split five ways before but never all five self-picks. 21 was the highest numbers so it could have been birthday's or family member's ages, but five separate people?

<TIN HAT>

I'm not sure if the private firm is running the Illinois lottery yet but the logo has changed. This makes me wonder is they're letting people "be in on the drawing" (AHEM!) or if they have agents going out and playing a set of numbers to "keep it in the family" (AHEM!)

</TIN HAT>

I know ther have been posts about jackpots in Florida where the numbers were all in a string getting a lot of multiple winners, but these were scattered.

Also, no surprise they were all Chicago or the 'burbs.

This week is also "Bonus Week" in the Pick 3, all payouts will have a 20% bonus.

This also makes me thing that firm took over as I've never seen this before. It's also marketing hype as a straight in Illinois pays $500, not $600. Guess what $500 + 20% is!

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

    An event like this is well within the realm of probability.  When randomness is involved, anything can happen.  This is just one instance.

    The key here would be to keep track of these things.

    Has something like this happened in the past?  I would be surprised if it had not.  Will it happen again in the future?  Probably.  But when it does occur again, how much time passed between the two events?  If only a few months separate the two then one eyebrow should rise up.  The next eyebrow should rise to join the other if something like this happens twice in one year.

    But this is Chicago.  Blago needs money for his lawyers and your newly elected mayor needs money to pay off his judges (those judges who ruled that a man living in Washington, D.C. for the last ten years was a resident of Chicago because he owned a rental house within the city).

      Birthday numbers and a ball-draw game.

      In neo-conned Amerika, bank robs you.
      Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms should be the name of a convenience store, not a govnoment agency.

        I was told some years back here at lottery post when I was posting for awhile about pick 5 strategy that the number 1 to many pick 5 strategy players is a key number to be in all plays. Or at least when you figure it is going to drop again.

          This is VERY VERY common in FL. There is rarely only 1 winner days on the Pick 5 here (Fantasy 5). Its safe to say its rare when there is only 1 winner on Fantasy 5 in FL.

          The typical payouts are split between 2-5 people.

          here is a sample from FL:

          Date:   -      #'s Drawn   -  # Winners - Prize amt$ (each)

            What was rare about what Coin Toss showed was all 5 winners were self picks and the tickets were bought in 5 different locations.

              Didnt realize that was rare in IL....Fl recently had 47 jackpot winners on Fantasy 5...46 of them were self picks at different locations.

              Still not rare here in FL

                  Judging solely from the news stories about people winning P5 games several times, I would not be surprised to hear that someone found an algorithym that produces a profit.

                        that wasnt me or any of my systems...my systems require at least: $150 or $200 per draw...and i also will not call them my system they are already on the internet...

                        At $150-$200 per drawing, your systems aren't designed for the average players.  I never pictured you as such a high roller, you're up there with Steve Player.
