Hey everyone, was wondering if anyone has been to the new Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, IL, which is near Rosemont?

I've been there once so far and only played only one slot "Amazon woman" $.25 machine. Usually I don't play quarter machines because they get too expensive especially when you play 3 lines at a time. I only played $5 and left after I lost $5 so I could at least get some play on my new Players Card. I am hoping they will send me some sort of special offers. Did anyone receive any special offers yet?

Do NOT go on a Saturday if you want to get a machine because you will not be able to get one!! That's how packed and bad it is over there and we went at 2 p.m. on a Saturday! I am very disappointed with their slot machine selection, not a lot of Vegas style machines and where are the blackjack .25 machines???

What I want to know is has anyone been there during the week and how easy was it to get a nickel or penny machine? Also, did anyone try the new burger place? We went to the buffet and it was very good but overpriced.

Thanks!

And the TV talking heads keep telling us how bad the economy is; makes ya wonder.

Today's nickle machines have at least 15 pay lines at a minimum bet of 75 cents and some have 25 pay lines. A $10 payoff is huge on penny machines and they are usually pretty crowded all day long. Though I've never been to the Rivers Casino, most river boats are much smaller than land based casinos and the penny slots get lots of action.

Well, we went on my birthday to the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, IL. My first intention was to go to the new Flipt burger restuarant in the casino and my second intention was to gamble a little. Heck, it was my birthday, I should be lucky right? :)

Well, first we went to the slot machines, packed again!! Very hard to find a good slot, yet alone a slot you want. When I put my card in the machine, where the little tv usually is, a Happy Birthday message came up, and that was nice. After putting my card in, and the birthday message came off, there was a message saying I had free slot play and it was downloaded to this particular machine for today only, but I did not know how to use it. So we called an attendant on the machine, but no one ever came so I decided to go to the Players Club and ask. They said the slot play message comes up for everyone. If the blue icon is lit up with a cash symbol then that means you can actually cash it in. It doesn't make sense to me, very confusing. So I just played one spin because I was frustrated and we went to eat.

So far the main attraction there are the restaurants. We ate at the Canopy buffet there a few weeks ago and that was very good. The Flipt burger joint was even better. This was one of the juciest, largest burgers I have ever had. It was a blue cheese burger with grilled onions and bacon. They make the bread daily fresh on site. To add fries it costs $2, but the fries were really good.

All in all I had a nice birthday but I wish they would've gave something for my birthday, even a free dessert item would have been nice...

P.S. and no I didn't win on my one spin :)
