I ask this because since the price increase,pb ticket sakes have been lack luster.I believe they will let this jp to grow but with the jp  only increasing only 10 mil per drawing its gonna take a while.th
ey need to go back to 1 dollar if you ask me.

I bet if it does get big the lines will be worse , because

everyone will be like $2 or $3 per ticket. What you mean

I want a dollar ticket. Oh the horror that would be. I would rather

just see megamillions get big again.

Maybe if they rollback the price to $1. A dollar and a dream.

not anytime soon, and if it does it will have to roll more times to get there,

w/2$ tix most reg. players that would be happy with the starting JP are gonna play the cheaper game,

JP odds being = , who is going for the 2$ game, cept maybe florida, and even there folks close to the border may still pass on it,

I think it's possible, if your a real lotto player you'll be right in the middle of it just like the

              Mega Millions game.

$2 isn't going to stop anyone from playing once the jackpot start to reach record setting amounts. I know

I'll buy a ticket or two, not $100 or $1000 worth of tickets.

There's a possibility the PB can come close to MM but it's tough to say. I think for right now, the PB will reach $100 million. If not, somebody will win this Wed.

Folks love a good deal.  $1 for a Mega ticket is a good deal compared to the $2 for PowerBall.

I haven't noticed people in the stores buying more Powerball.

In fact, those I talk to and store owners say it's kind of the opposite.

                    Yes

PB will surpass MM, but it will not be this year, all the j/p's will be in the ten's of millions for a while.  A j/p that starts at 40 million is fabulous; I still only purchase 1 ticket a game (refuse to buy more at 2$ a shot) and figure that I am not alone.

Dontcha think it has something to do with us not being accustomed to the higher price and that we are by nature creatures of habit thus wanting zero change and a ticket price of a buck???

MM puts about 32 cents from every ticket in the jackpot prize pool.
PB puts about 64 cents from every ticket in the jackpot prize pool.
The odds of both games are almost exactly the same.

Statistically the average PB jackpot should be almost exactly twice as much as the average MM jackpot. PB has almost exactly the same chance of selling just as many tickets  (a bit more than 1.4 billion) before producing a winner. If PB sells $1.43 billion tickets before producing a winner the cash value of the jackpot will be a bit more than $900 million.

It should happen eventually. It took MM about 7 years to do it.

When PB gets up over 300 million, it's going to be a mess for a lot of people getting a ticket. Like someone stated, so many people are going to think its a dollar and ask for 10-20-50 tickets and cause some major slow downs at the cashier. However I do think that if it hits 300m, we will see the same thing happen that happened with MM.

$900 million? That's an insane amount of money. Whats a word that is worse than frenzy?  1.4 billion, I thought we spent 1.9 billion dollars on that drawing.

okay so which is the better deal right now. $2 power ball ticket with jackpot of $70M or $1 for $12M. I'll take the $2 and $70M.
