RJOh:

Do you track this data respectiely for the PB game? I know at a glance and from failing recollection that the numbers aren't as favorable.

This data doesn't have to be tracked. I have a file(hopefully accurate) of the games I play and this calculation can be done on any of them for any number of drawings. Most lottery programs allow this type of data analogy.

PB has had its 5/59 matrix for 391 drawings, however it has had only 35 bonus numbers for the last 75 drawings. I just rechecked the last 391 PB drawings with the previous drawing and this is the result.

TOTAL MATCHES

MATCH 0 = 231
MATCH 1 = 135
MATCH 2 = 23
MATCH 3 = 1
MATCH 4 = 0
MATCH 5 = 0

Back in 2002, I matched 5of6 in the Ohio Super Lotto(6/49+1) for \$1500, the best I've ever done.

Ohio have since got rid of that game an now has Ohio Classic(6/49).  I've since been designing a program and system to accumulate every piece of data that I think could improve my odds.  So far all I've done is convinced myself that lotteries are truly random and there is very little about them that is consistence enough to give you much of an edge if you're playing less than 50 lines.  I usually play 20.

The lotteries can use someone as you to fend off the conspiracy theorists given your extensive efforts or maybe you may only serve to strengthen their baseless arguments....

I was reading some time back on the gambler's fallacies and one section read that as soon as you identify what you think to be a trend it has likely already changed. This is how I define random. So sporadically there are apparent consistencies and gamblers have to anticipate it or in the least catch the tail end and even when we do there's always a distance between the best strategy and the right combination. It takes LUCK to close that gap!

Take the 5/41 AZ Fantacy 5 as an example   RJOh, and tell me how many lines you think would need to be played to gain an improvement in odds?

Every extra line you play improves your odds but at some point only you can decide if the edge you gain is worth the price.  I've always thought that 20 lines gives a player reasonable odds at an affordable price and beyond that you talking about hundreds of lines normally.

The only times I've ever thought differently in my personal experience was when a game was being discontinued and it was decided if no one won the top prize, it would be divided among the lower tier winners.  When Ohio ended its Lot'O Play game I bought extra lines and was glad I did.  I was sorry I didn't buy more when I collected my winnings.

If conspiracy theorists believed what they said, they would be using the information to take advantage of a game rather than complaining about losing.
