Thrifty, I actually agree with the title of your topic.
With a game containing as many combinations as PB or MM's, it would be senseless to increase tickets purchased no matter how many numbers are matched on any given draw, or, at any point. True that, buddy!L.L.

I really do appreaciate that. When I post, I really try to help people in my own way and I always hope that people don't receive me the wrong way...although back in the day, many players did. Long story attached to that, though. As far as being a smart lottery player, common sense is the best approach to any numbers game in my opinion. This, compiled with the right combinations, money, opportunity, resources, and timing is an entire system in itself...FOR THE RIGHT GAME.I may ruffle a few feathers with this statement but, there is no reasonable system available, money-wise, for PB and MM's. Just too many numbers involved all the way around and it's why I say not to stress so much over it...not worth it at all. Have fun playing but, stay in close contact to reality and your budget. I've been juggling numbers for a very long time, as many others probably have, and I resolved to Pick 3/4 as the absolute best way to generate positive cash for myself...can't speak for anyone else.
Lots of what I see here at LP is very subjective but, it can work if properly implemented. "Why" to play a specific way is just as important as "How" to play a specific way. With that, I'll say this:
"The man that knows how will always have a job. The man which knows why will always make more money...and be his boss."
Keep your head up, Thrifty, and don't give up on what you believe.
