If you're sneaking out at lunch to buy a ticket for the $500 million Powerball jackpot, Richard Lustig has a few tips for you. Even though the official odds of winning tonight's drawing are 1 in 175 million, Lustig says you can give yourself a better chance. He should know: He's won the lottery seven times. Lustig advises you to pick your own numbers instead of using the machine's picks, research those digits to see if they've won before and "buy as many tickets as you can afford." He also says that if you enter a pool with your co-workers (or, say, msnNOW writers), you should have a written contract detailing how everyone will split the cash

And the word jackpot as it refers to his successes is purely relative. He's never won a major jackpot. At his best he's won a few hundred thousand in the Fantasy 5.

He gets interviewed every time the jackpot is high but he has yet to win powerball and mega millions. So in my opinion he has yet to win any major jackpot so he is just trying to sell his book. he is lucky but still a loser in my book!-weshar75
