So there was one winner and they were in PA?

Yeah, Levittown. I think it's a Philly suburb.

Problem is the first few draws now are in the mid 20 million range in sales. Even when the jackpot hits $100 million now, the sales are only in the $35+ million range, not enough to cover if someone won on the 1st drawing starting at $100M and a (small) but still possible chance of the lottery losing a lot of money if there is a streak where there are a lot of wins early (for example, say if someone won $100M, then the next series another wins it at $110M, and then another at $100M).

There's really no need for a matrix change right now unless you want lower odds and more modest big prizes (meaning fewer $250M and above prizes) as a result of that. Even the $575.5M jackport recently had close to a 20% chance of a rollover. All the drawings leading up to that prize, there was still a 60%+ chance of rollover

The lottery wants players to pay $5, $10,$20,$30 etc like instant scratch off games.

Thanks CoinToss...I'll go back and research the amount of the pot when the majority of winners play...

I didn't start playing Powerball on a semi regular basis until October and was going by what was being told to me...guess I should researching things before opening my mouth~

No problem CinCin, no need to beat yourself up over it.

You can't assume you guys would have won.

Funny thing, when you talk lottery how so many people are suddenly 'experts'.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Judging from the sizes of the jackpots, a lot of players don't have a problem spending those amounts.

Well, I for one, won't be able to play the lottery at 5.00 a ticket...perhaps a line here and there, but nothing like now... =((

Guess I better WIN before something like this happens!!
