Driving upset in the lottery community, the Mega Millions Jackpot rolled over but did not increase in annuity value. In fact the cash value was reduced by 100k. There is much speculation as to why this proved so but no one seems to be happy about this rare occurrence. If it rolls over, what do you think the annuity value will be?

Is it B/C interest rates are at rock bottom ?

    I'll vote, remains @ 12m,

but still keep playing, and be happy w/ 4mils. clear.

I am guessing it's a hybrid between low sales volume and large payouts of 2nd tier prizes.

I went out on a limb and voted 18m.

was low sales volume caused by misunderstood Mayan calendar ?

Look at the sales volumes of the past starting jackpots for your answer. On 10/19 there was $16.3 million in sales and the next jackpot was $13 million, on 11/06, $15.1 million with the same increase, 11/30 was $18.1, again the same increase, and sales were $14.6 on Tuesday with no increase.

Since you're asking us to guess tonight's sales volume, why do you think it will be any higher or lower than with average $12 million jackpots?

Stranger things have deterred people from doing what they normally do. Perhaps people may feel invincible that they've survived and parlay that good fortune into playing heavier tonight What?

Mega Millions reputation has been damaged by not rolling the jackpot.

Banks are nothing without savers. Mega Millions is nothing without lottery players. It shows you that lottery organizers do not bring anything to the table to get pay.

I bought a ticket at the store tonight but if I don't win.  I hope that it goes to $15 million that is a reasonable hike.  Good luck to all!-weshar75
