What would you say if you could have 1 in 27 odds to win $500 dollars opposed to 1 in 1000?

I'd say how often, meaning what is the cost/Win Ratio from a long past data sample..

Unless someone organize non profit lottery, such low odds and high pay out will not work. Say, I will start lottery with such odds, nonprofit. If I want someone  to win $500, but there should be 27 investors so to say, then the price of the ticket should be 500: 27=$18.52.  The lucky one out of every 27 people will get his $500. The unlucky one might never get his win.

It seems to make more sense to just create sort of a nonprofit bank among family, friends, coworkers, where each in his turn has a chance to have $500 to himself, while others put money together. The only thing that will be chancy is the order.

When such low odds exist in real lottery, where tickets is worth $1.00, that means that win will not show up until money is there, minimum 500 times, but in reality even a lot more rarely. Or, that such people, even more, have to loose so one can win. Theoretically it is 1 to 27 odds, if one calculates numbers, unchanged numbers, but practically it is not. Cash 3 has the rule that they remove numbers that repeat too often. That gives them time to gather more profits, so there are money to pay out the wins. All the predictors there, if you tell lots of people the lie, so they go and massively buy wrong numbers, wrong combinations, creating overflow of certain numbers, then you can end up on top of game, racking in the wins, because you will use numbers and combinations the rest did not. All who trusts a lot the predictors, beware.

Now I should stop trusting even myself. ;)

Ok here's how I'd tweak ur idea.  Play online.  Where it's payout is 900$$$.  Take 27 people. Form a tight knit lotto group.  Every draw your odds of winning would be 1 in 27.  Because every draw. Every possible combination would be bought. Each member is assigned 38 numbers to play every draw In straight form...

cost for entire group will be $1000/ 1000 numbers. Guaranteed hit for 1 lucky member every draw...

now the issue is getting paid your winnings..... Chime in on my idea pls....

                      does it make any sense....

I think it would be according to how much I'd have to invest to win 500.00 with those odds...If i'm going to pay a dollar, I'd rather have a chance on winning a larger jackpot, despite the better odds, but that's just me.....Perhaps the fly-by-nighter will return and tell us more about what his toss and run question is all about........
