I had an issue with a retailer, I was first in line and had asked for the next ticket on the roll of 100x The Money because it was on one of #s I like, and he said "Alright, hold on a minute" and proceeded to help a customer for a gas payment. A "ticket poacher" guy came up behind me, hearing me tell the retailer what I wanted and why, asked for the same ticket (he's behind me in line still) and the clerk said "Okay, good luck", and I said "Hey, wait! Thats the one I asked for!" and the clerk said "What does it matter? It doesn't matter what # ticket you get!" And the guy who got the ticket then won $500.00. I was so upset. The retailer was so ugly to me, and I am a regular at this particular store..... And then I proceeded to scan my tickets to double check myself (these were second chance drawings that he knows I enter them in and use them), and he offered to scan them as well "to help" (they were quite a bit) so I allowed it. He then scanned a bit of mine, only to throw them in his trashbin and state "None are winning tickets". There was no receipt back to indicate that this was true. I was livid as this point. I then grabbed them back and I left to scan them elsewhere, and guess what, I later rechecked them with their being a $50 and $40 winners in the bunch! I suppose he was going to use them to cash them in for later and use my second chance tickets for himself. I expressed my concerns with the GA Lottery about these incidents and how I think there should be better oversight for retailers that do the things he was doing. I didn't think it was fair that all he has to do is grab the ones from his bin that he didn't purchase (from customers that don't know any better or recheck themselves) and have an unfair advantage and better odds at winning the second chance promotion than the rest of us. I told them that I had concerns with the same several people winning the promotion several times (three times within 5 months); Considering the odds, it just didn't seem right to me. I don't mind people winning more than once but winning several different promotions andalso some also winning in the same second chance ticket promotion, it just doesn't seem to fair or random to me, that they need a better system in picking the winners randomly. After the ex-president got into hot water over a winfall profit (they won't call it a bonus even though it is a bonus payment), and after some watchdog had ruled that they had to curb their bonuses, I was not happy and concerned in the fairness of their lottery period. I also mentioned that there were many others that were frustrated over the same thing.
This is just a summary of the two emails I sent them a month prior to their response back to me that glossed over what my issues were and didn't cover what I had actually complained about. lol
