Hey killerwill13, look again at line 2735 on the ivaliabrep....$1k prize on #1249....92% claimed on a game that is 97% sold....that 5% represents a lot (over 150) of missing $1k prizes along with all the higher $$ prizes as you mentioned.
Jackpot... Your right that is odd.... like really odd. and looking at the emergency rules that should be a $1000 alone so like numbers matching to a single spot..
HMMMMMM take a look at the final $100 position... Its drastically higher too... same way 1 number to that prize. I think we just spotted a way the lottery plays people lol that one number thing gets people....

I thought you would find that interesting.....and really odd by the way. :)
The lottery has been playing me for years now and really crushed me when i went nuts chasing all those remaining monster prizes on the old 100X....still pretty bitter about the whole thing.....they never responded to my 50 emails asking how a $25 game ends after being 100% sold out yet nobody claims a $5M and 6 - $1M prizes along with a host of other $1k and up prizes....just burns my ass the way they blew off all my inquiries and would never admit to how many books were destroyed because how else do you explain all those unclaimed huge prizes? I learned a valuable and very expensive lesson believing all the ILR data....ugh.

POMPANO BEACH MAN CLAIMS $2 MILLION TOP PRIZE
PLAYING FLORIDA 50X THE CASH SCRATCH-OFF GAME
TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Lottery announces that Daniel Torres, of Pompano Beach, claimed a $2 million top prize in the new FLORIDA 50X THE CASH Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. He chose to receive his prize in a one-time, lump-sum of $1,600,000.
Torres purchased his winning ticket from Tamers Food Mart 6th Avenue, located at 4610 Northeast 6th Avenue in Oakland Park. The retailer will receive a $4,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
Even though he is only 19, Torres plans to make the most of his winnings by saving as much as possible. "I want to invest my money and really make the most of this opportunity," he said, furthermore "I know a lot of players like to buy books but this was a "one and done." (last part my addition, lol)

That was a pretty good addition BuyLow! I am still a gambling book buyer but like your humor!

Hey TikiMan,
The ILR is accurate and shows exactly how many prizes are still unclaimed, not remaining. Huge difference in that wording. The lottery cannot and will not provide any information regarding how many prizes actually still exist on a game.....I have tried that route before and its a dead end. Since the lottery still destroys partially sold books and damaged tickets without updating the remaining prize list and ILR you just have to go with your gut. Sucks, but that is the story. In a perfect world the ILR would be an incredibly valuable tool but everyone knows the lottery does not operate in a perfect world and that is why sometimes a game has such a sour ending like the old 100X and Super Millions to name just a few. Hope that helps.

Well technically your right.. but if a private enterprise didn’t change their odds after they knowingly destroyed something that changes the fundamental odds I think that the Gaming commissions would consider that a deceptive fraudulent practice.....

All conspiracy theories aside, they shouldn't have a financial incentive for ensuring there are unclaimed jackpots/big prizes. Even if every prize on a game is claimed, they are still generating at least 30-40% profit. It can't just be coincidence that these jackpot books are picked up when only a very small percentage of tickets are likely returned for a partial credit, how do games like $5 Power 8s and $5 Cash Fall end with 2 jackpots remaining? I don't even want to go into other games, like 200M Spectacular, 50X The Cash, Super Millions, or 100X The Cash since that will open up old wounds from many of us who spent a little fortune buying books of these tickets and ultimately being disappointed.
There's lots of theories of what happens to the money from unclaimed jackpots, some lotto reps have stated it is "Rolled over", but I see no evidence of that happening.

If that is the case then the Florida Lottery regularly engages in deceptive fraudulent practice. I have questioned them for years over this and got nothing back. They like to preach about honesty, accountability and integrity within the lottery and its games and bust retailers that try and steal from customers. I feel that when the lottery destroys thousands of tickets that have been returned from retailers and fails to update the remaining prizes on the website along with the ILR data that is a crime and should be punished. I would like a refund of all the scratch-off tickets i have purchased over the past 20 years due to these deceptive practices. What a party I could throw for everyone on this forum.

The fact that they're allowing returned open books to be sent back for a credit and not tracking the prizes is a huge disservice to all the players, and the most dishonest practice. Simply making an informal note on a "sticky note" of the book number or however they currently normally tack this (if at all, the lotto reps I've talked to basically told me it is a waste of time chasing old games like Super Millions). Retailers, like AK Kwik have advocated for rectifying this problem by taking in these open books from other retailers; they have the shelf space to sell anything in AK Kwik and they sell lottery tickets like candy at this store. The lottery prefers to just destroy these tickets, and give retailers a "credit".
Let's say the norm is for 1-2% of prizes to go unclaimed, how do they manage to loop in multiple jackpots into that 1-2% of returned/destroyed tickets like with the 100X game? 5 $1M prizes, one $5M prize, $50k, $20ks all managed to go unclaimed because of "regular courses of business and operational practices"?

Hey there Dracos,
The old $25 100X ended much worse than you think.......much, much worse. The game sold out 100% and there were simply no more tickets for sale in the entire state when it ended....that i know for sure!
1 - $5,000,000 prize never claimed
6 - $1,000,000 prizes never claimed
2 - $50,000 prizes never claimed
7 - $20,000 prizes never claimed
24 - $5,000 prizes never claimed
hundreds and hundreds of $1000 prizes never claimed
and the list goes on and on......
This game sold out 100%.......how can this happen?

Looks like I'm going to throw in the towel on GR 1249 and switch over to GRD 1322, 10k4L 1362 and WCC 1339. I'm not going to chase an ending game with so much turmoil.

Wise choice TikiMan!
For everyone interested in how shady the lottery really is, please email opengov and request the following:
invalliab_rep_11039.rpt
This report shows the ILR for all scratch off games including those that have ended long ago. When viewing it scroll down to the bottom of each game to see how many top prizes were remaining when the game ended.....it will piss you off royally! Some may quit scratch-offs for good when they see a game they used to play regularly ended with half the top prizes remaining or 35% still never claimed....brutal report. All you formed 200M, Kings Ransom, 100X, Super Millions, etc. scratchers are gonna be shocked when you see how much money the lottery never had to pay out.....its in the tens of millions if not a hundred million dollars total.

End of rant
I remember the excitement from the old 200 Million Spectacular, $10 Holiday Gifts, $2M Jackpot, and 50X The Cash. No one here hit anything, except Adam on the $10 Holiday Gifts.
I played through at least a dozen books of $2M Jackpot, and my biggest winner was $150 or $250. Bad memories. The excitement of stopping by and buying all those tickets was fun. It is a shame how things ended. If we could find some nice claim tickets, this could be sustainable, but for the average joe it isn't.
