Hey duckman (and skeptic), you both raise really valid questions/points. Given that during this time of exceptional circumstances the Lottery has decided to close its offices thereby limiting the one assured way winners have to cash in claimers (yes we can all debate whether mailing in winners is advisable or not), I believe the Lottery needs to establish a plan for the safe and orderly reopening of their offices.
If there's no forethought to this on the Lottery's part I think we can all agree there's going to a serious logjam at their offices upon reopening. The logjam might be unavoidable...as I'm not sure of the other locations but I know the Altamonte office isn't much larger than a postage stamp and parking is kinda hemmed in. I can envision for at least that location (and perhaps others) a serious line forming outside the office doors in the initial days after reopening. These lines will be filled with people holding what are essentially no less than $600 bills/notes - many of whom for one reason or another will not have signed the back of their tickets. At the very least I believe the Lottery needs to take measures to establish a protective detail for these folks, one with power enough to deter those who, as we unfortunately know, might look to exploit others during these exceptional times. They might also be able to structure reopening in way to lessen the logjam, but I haven't any ideas yet on how best to do so in a way that will not likely be confused among the public.
I'll get off my soap box now and back to focusing on playing...just wanted to share my thoughts that if Lotto can close to protect people they should also look to ensure a safe reopening.
