Hi GermanScratcher, for sure it never hurts to do the 2nd chance if you have spare time to enter the tickets. If you've not already done so you'll need to create an account on the FL Lotto web site and get to the 2nd chance area. The promotion code entry field is just under the "Ticket Number" entry field in the "Ticket Entry" page. The promo code is explained in the "Rules" page (see item #3 on that page). Basically the code can be gotten on one of several social media sites. A different code will be produced for each draw. I've honestly not got the code for any of the Luck 2nd chances yet, and the FL Lotto seems to change the way to get it for each different 2nd chance, which is kinda annoying (for the recent WFL 2nd chance, Lotto vendors were supposed to have had the code but none seemed to know anything about it). Also, the promo is only worth 25 entries so not huge in the end.
Here's a few general things I adhere to with the 2nd chances:
- Since it takes the same amount of time to enter a $20 ticket vs a $1 ticket I enter highest value tickets first (entries per tickets are equal to the ticket $ value), that way if I run out of time I have at least entered the higher value tickets vs lower ones...something to think about if you play a lot, have varying ticket values, and limited time
- Tickets from the same book will all have the same first 12 of the total 24 numbers needed to enter (game #, book #, and 0). So, if you have multiple tickets from the same book it will save a little time to enter them in a batch since on the initial entry I copy the 1st 12 digits and then paste them over and over when entering subsequent tickets of the same book (some state lottos have ability for automated upload entries using camera/scan on smart devices but FL hasn't yet joined the 21 Century here yet)
- Not being a kill-joy but in the end odds are not great - if you search this thread you'll see where for some past draws very resourceful members here have asked for and received from the FL Lotto the number of draw entries, but the way I chalk it up it doesn't cost anything to enter losers, except time.
In closing, welcome, best of luck in the 2nd chance, and hope to see you post some nice winning tickets!
