  Hello everyone,

  I'm having a hard time finding an excel formula to help me count the numbers that are proceeding or following certain numbers. I've done a search found the sumproduct equations use by Carbob for a similar question but that didn't work. I've also done an internet search and still haven't found my answer. So here is a simple example and wanted out come.

  4

   The numbers proceeding the the number 5 is 4 (two 4s to be exact). I'm looking a formula/ macro to give me the total count of all numbers that are proceeding or following a certain number.
