Kate Middleton Called "Princess"
on Prince George's Birth Registry
The birth of the royal baby is now official! Prince William and Kate Middleton registered baby son Prince George in London on Friday, Aug. 2, and Middleton's "Princess" title was used.
After welcoming their first child on July 22, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 31, formally registered their son's birth. The Duke of Cambridge signed the birth register at Kensington Palace this morning, witnessed by a Registrar from Westminster Register Office.
Middleton is currently staying with her family about 50 miles away in Bucklebury with baby George, so William traveled alone to Kensington Palace to sign the birth register, witnessed by a Registrar from Westminster Register Office. While most new parents have to travel to a register office to formally register the birth of their child, a Westminster City Council Registrar traveled to Kensington Palace for William to sign.
A photo of the registry was released, and William listed their occupations as "Prince and of the United Kingdom" and "Princess of the United Kingdom." Middleton was referred to as a Princess, rather than a Duchess.
