DC Lottery needs to stop selling them, if they are not going to cash them.

        Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Wondering if other states will follow this trend?

        The Struggle is real!

Sorry if this duplicates the info. in your link, Tenaj, couldn't get to it.

This is from the OP sbout the D.C. lottery in the News forum:

The government shutdown hits Washington particularly hard, as the city's government is funded by congressional appropriations, which have not happened for the new fiscal year as Democrats and Republicans continue their standoff.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

The District of Columbia is in a unique position in that Congress has "supreme authority" over the city.  DC can't spend any money (apparently even paying winners) without congressional approval.  Other states and their lotteries don't have to worry about any congressional intereference like that so no other states should be refusing to pay winners.

Meanwhile DC players I aM sure the states of Virginia and Maryland will happily take your dollars and pay you if you win.  Remember in Maryland you have the option to claim your win anonymously if you want.

I guess DC Players might start coming into Maryland or Virginia to play until the this ends.
