So you won the lottery. Where are you going to go vacation first?

I'd get out of the country. Away from beggars and scammers.  I'd rent a nice house for 3 months in a secret, undisclosed location with pretty scenery and great food.  I'd pay for close family members and friends to join us for a week or two at different times.

I just got to thinking: is there a place on earth where you definitely will not find beggars in one form or another. I know for a certainty that even though l admire Architecture like the Taj Mahal-l Will not set foot in India.l heard the begging population numbers into the millions.
Heard of the Movie " The Great Escape?"...well one has zero chance of that happening in India. Why risk it.

St Tropez- too crowded but like you said, depends on the season.

Those two and definitely the Seychelles- white sand beaches and nothing but clear skies.

Seychelles would be great if I had a serious relationship/fiancee/wife

I was thinking along the lines of something less exotic.  Like a nice country place in Tuscany or Sardinia.  Even though I would love to go to India and other exotic places, for the purpose of this thread, which asks where would I go on vacation first, I'd go for something a lot more mellow and safer.  Because I'd want that first vacation to be a chance to escape the drama here that often follows JP winners, i.e., the media and the people who show up at your door demanding money.  While others view that first vacation as a chance to go crazy and blow money left, right, and centre, I'd prefer to use that time to have a good think about where I want my life to go from that point, and plan carefully how to spend my newfound riches.  By going somewhere far from the US, I reckon your chance of being known as a lottery winner should be minimized, therefore less beggars, scammers, extortioners, threats, etc. and you should get some peace and quiet to just chill, plan and enjoy the new financial freedom.

Going to do 2 weeks in Hawaii and then 2 weeks in New Zealand.  With a quick stop in Sydney to see the opera house on the trip back to the states.

Now all I need are the right 6 numbers. . .

I'd have to say the Cayman Islands. It looks so beautiful and peaceful. I definitely would pay for my immediate family to come with. I think a week and a half, any longer would probably not want to come back home.

                      Sounds good....Thumbs Up
