I'd throw $10 to $20 at it until somebody hit...hopefully it would be me. I dont want to contribute too much to someone else's jackpot LOL

I've come within one number of winning a lottery jackpot twice in my life and each time the winning combination was the fifth and sixth in a group of ten and eleven combinations.  So to be safe I might spend enough to cover twenty lines, for MM that would be $20.

I believe that is true RJOH...I think the last two big powerball winners said they bought about $20 worth of tickets...of course that is only 10 lines for powerball...but I think with the big jackpots that's a good place to start

          May-be $100 or may-be more for 1 billion dollars.

I remember when MM jp rose to $650M in 2011. I spent $34 and won nothing. And that was when the jackpot odds was sensible. I wouldn't buy more than 2 lines if any at all.

            That money's gone fo ever

              < $5.

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I really hate to ask, but what exactly is the difference between a Billion dollar MM jackpot and a Billion dollar PB jackpot?

Both have odds that astronomically high against you winning. But MM's are much worse.

I have been playing the same numbers for mega millions for a month now and since none of the numbers has come up for a jackpot I will play them until they mess with the matrix again.  You never know they could be lucky.-weshar75

l like your thinking...I will play them until they mess with the matrix again" ..Sounds like a winning formula you have there- weshar.

Your chances are the same as everyone else's.

The answer is a Dollar.  PB is another buck.

The cost of a winning ticket.

If PB and MM both offered  $1 billion jackpots, MM players would have to spend, on average, $259 million to produce each $1 billion winner. PB players would have to spend $350 million.

I'd probably spring for 5 of the MM tickets and 2 or 3 of the PB tickets, but I'd pay attention to the size of the jump that leads to the $1 billion jackpot. If sales are high enough that there's a very good chance of mutliple winners  I'd figure I'm only playing for $500 million.
