Just wondering how the people that are playing quick picks and their own numbers are doing.  Better with quick picks or your own numbers?

I seem to do better with my own numbers vs. quick picks.

Had 1 number correct on my QP....had 1 number correct on my chosen set

I am looking forward to the improvement with both options

The combinations I play are hybirds of QPs.  They are selected from a large group of randomly picked combinations and lately I've been picking losers but on closer examination of the large group I find it only has a few lower tier winners so I wouldn't have been much better off picking one of its winners.

I HAVE NEVER WON ANYTHING USING MY OWN NUMBER OTHER THAN THE PB OR THE MB. I'VE ALWAYS WON MORE WITH QUICK PICKS

I think I do better because I play with sets of low digit numbers, sets of middle numbers, sets of high digit numbers and sets of combination of low, middle and high numbers.

I do better with my own numbers. I enjoy picking my own numbers and i'd like to think that maybe having a positive attitude mixed with a little fun along the way will produce the magic numbers one day. QP's just feels soo impersonal and i like having a part in the numbers i playApprove...especially if they hit a JP  Big Grin

I hear you candlelight777, but sometimes I get alittle negative about the lottery when it seems like the drawing/winning numbers skip around my own numbers. Hope our numbers hit soon.

For me, focusing on the JP is a never ending disappointment so i avoid playing with that as my primary goal or the whole thing becomes a form of negative entertainment. I play one maybe two tickets for the JP games and sometimes more if i feel strongly about numbers i think will pop and if the JP is a sizable amount, but in general, i put most of my weekly lottery budget on games with lower odds. It's the more frequent small wins that keeps the game fun and rewarding for me. Sometimes those games with smaller winnings and lower odds can make for a nice payday though.
I play the lottery with the attitude a win is a win regardless of the amount. I have already decided how much for the year i am willing to lose which sets my weekly lottery spending, now it's all about how much can i win over a year's period to offset the expense to play for the year.  If i end up only losing half of what i set aside for the year then i am happy...i just push it over to next year's lottery budget and only have to match half to set the new yearly budget once again. If i lose it all, then i lost no more than what i was comfortable with. This is why i always base my yearly lottery budget on what i am comfortable with losing, regardless if i could afford more...it's gambling and losing is to be expected. At the end of the day, i have fun and what i lose is instead seen in my eyes as a win for all the good causes the lottery helps.
Good luck and hopefully we all will have a good yearThumbs Up

I seem to do better with my own numbers vs. quick picks.

I've been doing a little experiment with Louisiana Lotto. Every drawing I buy 2 sets of numbers, one a quick pick, and one a set of numbers my wife and I picked, which we play for every drawing. I've been tracking the results of how many numbers matched over the last 35 drawings and here's what I've found.

Same set of numbers every time:
                    Average matched per draw: 0.764706
                    Median: 1
                    Mode: 0
                    Winnings: $0
                    Average Won Per Draw: $0.00

                    Different quick pick every drawing:
                    Average Matched : 0.941176
                    Median: 1
                    Mode: 1
                    Total Winnings: $3.00
                    Average Won per draw: $0.09

The game has 40 numbers and it takes a minimum of 3 to win a lower tier prize. It looks like the quick picks have a slight edge in matching numbers, but not much. If buying only one or two tickets, it probably doesn't make much difference.

                      bigbear29,

Always remember, your numbers could be someone else's quick pick, and someone else's numbers could be your quick pick!

                      Scared

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                      Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

That's ok, it would still be ok to share the jackpot vs. not winning anything at all.
