Let say you just won a scratch off (or 5/6 lotto) with a top prize of a million dollars.

Assume that after taxes you get $610,000 or something similar to that.

--------------

Would you buy a home for yourself or a loved one?

Start up a business?  Save it for a rainy day?

Do you even have a plan?

Would it be enough in the area you live in to live off of? What' your age?

If you do buy a home, car, etc how much would you spend on each?

Example: I'd get a 200k home cash, and a new 2014 Hyundai Elantra worth $17,200, blah blah in North Dakota it can go pretty far at 77yrs old.

With that amount, I would pay off my debt. Get a new car for me and my mother and put some of it towards a house. Then I would put the rest in savings. I'm in my 30's.

Im 34 years old single mom if I had a million dollars today I would pay all of my 65 year old mothers debt so that she can have her last days in peace without worrying if she's going to loose her house. Then I would start a business probably a boys and girls club filled with lots of love and games activities etc.. For parents that cant afford after care. And of course I will so my seed for the blessing I received so that the gift is passed on.. praying for that miracle Amen

I will pay for some solid job training. I'll get a modest apartment and some regular job. I'll buy some stocks for a long term investment. But no luxury items.

It's not a million,  but I got 1+1 on the MM tonight for ten bucks.  I plan on investing it in more lottery tickets.

If I won a million/the 600k, I'd pay off everything I owe (not a lot), spend some on my old shack, prob. buy a nice little car and sock the rest away.

If we pooled our winnings, we could buy a bottle of Jack.

Pay off my house, buy a Jeep for my wife, and a used Corvette for me.  Invest the rest.

Of course, that's the same plan I have when I win the OCL, but just on a little bigger scale. Big Grin

100K to pay off my house and remodel it.

                            10K on cosmetic dentistry

                            30K for a car

                            10K for fun stuff

Invest the 450K that's left.  I live in a state that taxes lottery, so I'd have a little less than 610K I think.

Oh man, we better win some more.

I got a 1.75 Liter right here and the price tag is $42.99 and then you gotta add tax.

Might have to get a fifth.
