Hi Atomic Dog,

Each of the tables below has an arbitrary key number, either 4, 5, or 6.  I would only select all of the combinations from one table to reduce the bet. If the key number from the table that I select matches any number that is actually drawn tomorrow, then I would win as long as the sum of the winning combination is not  3, 5, 8, 9, 12, 14, or 15. I've excluded those sums to further reduce the bet. Why?  The last seven sums are usually not repeated in the next drawing, see the chart that I've posted below the tables to verify this fact.  As far as winning frequently goes, it is not likely to happen because nobody can predict even one number every day. If one is lucky, one might be able predict just one of the numbers in a given drawing twice a week.

Hi Atomic Dog,

In my previous post I meant to write, “If one is lucky, one might be able to predict just one of the numbers in a given drawing twice a week.” Let’s suppose that today I’m that lucky guy and I have selected the number 5 as the key.

I’m not going to play all 35 combinations. Instead, I’ll select ten combinations that have the pairs that Wheeler posted today. Those combinations are highlighted in yellow. Let’s see what happens this evening.

 IF KEY IS 5 THEN SUM COMBO 23 599 22 589 21 588 21 579 20 578 20 569 19 577 19 568 19 559 18 567 18 558 18 459 17 566 17 557 17 458 17 359 16 556 16 457 16 358 16 259 13 445 13 355 13 256 13 157 13 58 11 335 11 245 11 155 11 056 10 235 10 145 10 055 7 115 7 025 6 015 N =35

Inform your choices. Do the math.

Today, the key number was five. If someone played all 35 of the combinations in the chart below for a \$40 prize, that person would have made a profit of \$22.50. The winning combination was 751, which is highlighted in the chart below as 157.

 IF KEY IS 5 THEN SUM COMBO 23 599 22 589 21 588 21 579 20 578 20 569 19 577 19 568 19 559 18 567 18 558 18 459 17 566 17 557 17 458 17 359 16 556 16 457 16 358 16 259 13 445 13 355 13 256 13 157 13 058 11 335 11 245 11 155 11 056 10 235 10 145 10 055 7 115 7 025 6 015 N =35

I think I've heard of a system like this before, where if you know for sure one

number coming in you can hit by playing a certain amount of combos for the win.

SQL means: Structured Query Language right

SQL stands for Structured Query Language, but it might eventually stand for Simply Quit Lottery because I’m not willing to pay enough to win. With this in mind, the challenge before me is to program a Microsoft Access database to reduce a Pick 3 bet to fewer than 15 combinations by using as few parameters as possible. I’ll move future discussions of this strategy and its shortcomings to the Lottery Systems Forum where it belongs. Occasionally, I may post charts in this forum to make it interesting. Thanks for your input.

Looks like the chart that I posted yesterday was good for today as well.  Combination 569 was selected as  695 in tonight's drawing.
