6 Month Season Ticket = $50
(52 drawings)
Discounted price $45- SAVE $7
1 Year Season Ticket = $100
(104 drawings)
Discounted price $90-SAVE $14
I bought two lines or tickets and paid $50 ($25 + $25) plus the $4 UPS shipping charge for three months. After the Holiday Special ... the price is $25, $50 or $100.
That discount price must the actual cost if you get a subscription during the special Holiday pricing period. So you get a few "free" drawings if you sign up that way. I want to then reorder with a six month subscription in June to get into the new Holiday Special window next Nov and I will probably get my ticket(s) for a year and only pay the shipping charge just once a year.
If I understand everything correctly ...

OK! Thanks for the info.
I think what you're telling me is that there is only one line printed on each ticket, as opposed to NY where I could buy a ticket for 3 dollars with 6 lines printed on it. (That'd be for a ticket I bought at a retailer. In MA, if I bought a ticket at a retailer, there'd be one line on it. I cant buy a ticket with two or more lines printed on it. Correct?)
My NY subscription is for one year without any discount whatsoever. (The cheap SOB's!) They automatically play 4 lines per drawing, and they always play the same sets of six numbers. (which I chose when I completed the subscription form.) I could have opted for QP's, and they'd play different sets of QP's at the time of each drawing.
The subscription costs $208 in total. (52 weeks X $2.00 per drawing, which buys me the same 4 lines in every drawing, of which there are two per week.)
The 1st place odds in Lotto are awful. They're 22.5 million to 1. I really have the subscription to play each week for the 2nd place prize. If nobody wins second place, then it too rolls. I've seen second place get to $500,000. That doesn't happen a lot, but when it does, I wanted to be in the drawing. Before I had the subscription, I'd have to check the NY Lottery website, see what the 2nd place prize was, and then remember to buy a ticket. The problem with that was I either forgot to check the website, or I did check it and forgot to buy a ticket! Naturally, I wouldn't be in the drawing for big 2nd place prizes, and somebody would win it. So I fixed that problem by buying a subscription. The odds for 2nd place are 3.7 million to 1, which IMHO is reasonable and makes my subscription worth having.
Believe it or not, I just checked The NYS Dept of Taxation's website, and it says that my NYS Income Tax refund is going to hit my bank account this week!!! My refund isn't a ton of money, but it just might be enough for me to get a small MA MegaBucks Doubler subscription. Only thing is I gotta do it on the down low, because my wife is "The Comptroller" in this house. The Chief Financial Officer isn't too keen on how much I spend on the lottery either. I'm in the kitchen typing this, and she just walked in, so I gotta go. Wish me luck! G5

Yes, one ticket or one line of numbers ... now I have no idea what will be in the envelope when it arrives ... two actual tickets or everything printed on one piece of paper.
I had my numbers ready to go when I called.
If you think about it ... if a person gets the $100 subscription for $90 during the Holiday Special ... it says you will save $14 ... so you get the $4 UPS charge back and still have a $10 break on the subscription. You could look at it that way.
I hope you get to try it out with the refund ... keep us posted. I forgot to get more information on the Doubler part ... I am not sure if I will get two Doubler chances with both tickets or only one chance with my two tickets. That's what I don't know ... are there going to be two tickets in the envelope or two tickets or sets of numbers printed on one piece of paper with only one doubler.
I was busy asking questions and writing things down ... also I wrote down March 22nd, she did say that date but that is a Sunday ... she must have said my subscription would start the week of March 22nd ... I don't know for sure till I get the envelope.

Craze,
My guess is that you're going to get two tickets in the envelope. I say that because according to The MA Lottery's website each Season Ticket has a "control number" printed on it.
Here's a cut 'n paste from the MA Lottery website regarding Season Tickets and The Season Ticket Doubler and the control number.
After every Megabucks Doubler drawing, the Lottery will randomly draw and post on the Mass Lottery website a Season Ticket Doubler Number (ST Doubler)from 0 through 9that will correspond to the last number of the MegabucksSeason Ticket's control number. The Megabucks Season Ticket's control number will remain the same for each drawing. The randomly drawn Season Ticket Doubler Number (ST Doubler) and the winning numbers for each drawing will be posted on our website as well as recorded with the winning numbers at 781-848-7755. If the last digit of the control number on your Season Ticketmatchesthe Season TicketDoubler Number and the Season Ticket has won a non-jackpot prize, the non-jackpot prize value will be doubled!
To my way of thinking, each Season Ticket has a different control number printed on it, so you'll receive two tickets. That might not be correct, but usually when things like "control numbers' are involved with this sort of thing, every ticket printed has a unique number on it. G5

G5 ... I think you are probably correct on all that ... I would like two separate tickets anyway.
Now I have to play the "waiting game" till March 22nd ... I didn't do bad on the PA 6/49 game last night (Mon) ... I had nine $2 tickets ... $18 total cost and I won $19, always nice to get your money back to play with again.

That was my educated guess anyway, but after going back a second time and looking at the Mass Lottery website, they do show a sample Season Ticket which has just one line and one control number on it, and the ticket is good for multiple drawings!
The sample has dates of May through August of 1995 on it!!

Was it my old post New York Lottery, online subscription question you refered to? I was about to update the thread but saw that it was closed. Sad to say I realised that I cannot start an subscription now that I'm here in New York because I don't have an adress in the US when I sign up, using the adress to the hotel not beeing such a great idea. My conclusion is that New York Lottery commission act as many other US individuals and auothorities and defines that all other states there is in the world, are all located within US border. In my world another states equals another country. As I wrote earlier, the commission still havent responded on either my email or facebook messages sent to them. I expect no answer from them.
I played Powerball this week for wednesday draw, but won't put up for advance play.
US authorities need to start think outside of the box a little more.

Yes ... when I posted earlier I was thinking you had been posting about the MA Megabucks Doubler game ... I remember now it was the NY Lottery you were discussing.
My mistake ... if you did Powerball advance play, that might work if you buy the ticket in NY ... in Pennsylvania a person has one year to cash a ticket, I don't know if NY also has a year to cash a winning ticket ... some states are only six months and there might be some states with only three months to cash winning tickets, I don't know for sure.
If New York has a one year window, why couldn't you play in advance ... just don't lose your ticket and collect your winnings on your next trip back to NY ... or if you hit it big, then you can make the trip back anytime.
I don't think a person has to be a US citizen to play PB but again I don't know for sure ... seems crazy if whoever is visiting the US can't play a lottery game.
Good luck ... try to figure something out ... anybody you trust with a NY or US address ... maybe you could play the MA Megabucks Doubler game.

Well technically I can play advance play and go back within the claiim period, but i'm not very fond of putting up with hundreds of dollars when i'm here with my girlfriend... were not planning to go back here soon anyway, so only a big win would take us back to NY.
It's 100% ok to play as a non-resident alien and collect wins, it even says so on official powerball FAQ site.

I understand ... I had the impression you might be a business person making trips to NY every so often.
Kick some ideas around ... maybe there is something in Europe.

You can play the UK Lottery, but you do need a UK address and a UK building society, credit union or bank account. You can pay by direct debit, deducted monthly from your account.

Well for anyone interested ... the Megabucks Doubler jackpot was hit last night ... new jackpot is $500,000.
Ain't that a kick in the head ... probably take forever to get that high again, not sure when it was last hit or how long it took to get that high.
$4,790,000 to $500,000 ...
...
I've been looking at the Mass Lottery's website and I can see the Jackpot history for Mass Megabucks Doubler.
The recent JP of 4.8 million started building last September.
It seems like the JP gets hit every 4 or 5 months, but I don't understand why when it does get hit, it stays at $500,000 for three or four drawings before it starts growing... Looks like the highest the JP ever got was 6 million, and then somebody hit it. G5

PrisonerSix Given the way that guy from overseas kept repeating this thing about playing Megabucks from out of state, I thought everybody in LP had picked up on it. It is the perfect setting for lottery enthusiasts who live in Mississippi, Alaska, Alabama, Utah and Nevada where there is no state lottery available.
Crazy Wombat taxes are paid at source of income. 5% state and 25% Federal would be withheld if you win big in MA. The Megabucks Doubler jackpot is $4.8M so I would encourage you all to get that subscription for the next 52 weeks. I think it costs $100.
You forgot Hawaii, they don't also have a lottery yet. The Massachusetts Lottery is especially handy for them as they can't drive to another state.
So, if you know folks in the vacation state, let them know!
