Congrats Jah Marley. Any particular reason why you liked digit 1? I'm curious, did you key it for a boxed hit?

For the benefit of some of our newer thread readers, here's a quick way you can select a group of a numbers for a boxed win whether you are playing online or at the store.

Let's suppose, like Jah Marley above you like digit 1 for some reason. I'm hoping he will share because I always find the reasons why people like numbers to be be interesting.

So the next thing you would do is decide if you like doubles or not.

If you don't think that doubles are warranted for a given draw then you can cover all no-match digit 1 (or any other digit) combos for $36 for a $1 bet.

                  Here they are:

                  012 013 014 015 016 017 018 019 123 124 125 126 127 128 129 134 135 136 137 138 139 145 146 147 148 149 156 157 158 159 167 168 169 178 179 189

Use of the LP number charts and deflate tool is an excellent way to quickly get those combos if you don't have them already.

I've hit using this method a zillion times and yes, even at the store. The beauty of it is that for $36 you are guaranteed to receive $80 at the store (or $150 online) if digit 1 appears in a no-matched combination. The downside of this method is that if doubles come, you lose. If you are playing online then it's considerably easier to simply just cover all doubles for $22.50. If you are playing at the store, the reality is that's a whole lot of play slips to fill out not to mention double the expense, so covering all doubles is probably not a good strategy for most store players.

Before you think that hey, if I could just pick 1 key number and make a $44 profit at the store several times a day and quit my day job, just try it for a week or two on paper and see how humbled you are at the end of that trial period ROFLMAO!

With that caveat in mind however, it has been a powerful strategy over time for me to win when I like a particular digit but am not sure about any other digit. Of course our biggest battle is often our own greed rather than with anything else since I can't tell you how often I've had the irrational thought "but I don't want to win $80; I want to win $250!" Or when I am in a "hot phase" and start thinking, I'm not playing for $250 I want $2500." Bottom line is that when you contain your greed, you can fulfil your need! But then again I guess that applies to most areas of life and not just numbers! Well, end of the sermon and good luck with your daily battles and good luck with single-digit key strategies!

you will see that the number 1 has been played everyday.. the key is to find out what are the other

I have an ideal for you, place your 1 with each of Wheelers pairs since his pairs hit the most.

I have an ideal for you, place your 1 with each of Wheelers pairs since his pairs hit the most.

                          ok i will try that

Digit 1 maybe hot right now but it could drop off the face of the earth with a quickness. I can't tell you how many times, I've thought, if I'd only keyed digit 1 every day I would have made a profit this past month! Once certain basics are covered, gambling, like other areas in life comes down to timing! The key to key digit picking is to get the hits and avoid the losses.

Just take the first week of April for example. Let's suppose you liked digit 1. Well, guess what? You'd probably be broke by the end of the week!!! In the 16 draws of the abbreviated week, digit 1 hit in only 3 draws and one of them was a double.

Even with our current hottest digit, digit 8, you would have a hard time getting the hits and avoiding the losses. This is why single digit, key picking is a good complement to a set of strategies rather than an end-all, be-all strategy unto itself.

Moneymaker - I would advise you to try Danny's idea on paper first carefully keeping track of how much you would have spent and how much you would have won.

Don't forget that with Wheeler's pairs or anyone else's pairs, there are 6 possibilities for each pair if you are looking to get a straight hit. Thus for each pair you would have to spend a minimum of 50c x 6 = $3 at the store to cover each of the 6 possibilities in one number.

Wheeler's +22 pair strategy is frequently alluring since as Danny points out, the pairs do come in often. However in the words Winston Churchill,

"However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results." When you look at how many pairs are being floated for each draw, you have to ask yourself, how much would I have to spend if I wanted to cover all of Wheeler's pairs even with my one key digit in relation to how much I would win.

I don't anyone to interpret this as a Debbie Downer style message on people who post a zillion pairs - because those pairs are useful - if you use them as guides for your own workouts - then they can be a very helpful feature of your own forecasting, strategy and betting. The same goes for people who post 100 numbers. I used to think well, that's all well and good but who but a few can afford to play 100 numbers every draw and even if you could would it ultimately be profitable because in many instances you'll note that people have boxed hits in those huge lists rather than straight hits. Now in pick 4 this might make more sense since one straight hit can cover you for the month even if you spend $50 / day. But in Pick 3, without straight hits, you can quickly find yourself winning but losing!

The reality is however that the odds against us are huge. 1000-1 for a straight hit is an incredibly difficult challenge, so if you narrowed your plays down to the 100 or so picks in Amilby or anyone else' list you may have found yourself a valuable filter but simply playing them "blind" can lead you quickly to a financial pickle. Be careful out there!
