Find them months after the expiration date while moving stuff around between books or other- and thinking " What if this was a winner?"

      Never.

They are in my wallet or on my desk.

There are so many people who leave them lieing around, in their jeans pockets, car door, glove box. I'd go insane.

You mean like fade out to barely readable lying on the dashboard?

That MAY have happened once or twice.

My greatest accomplishment is teaching cats about Vienna Sausage. When I need a friend, all I need do is walk outside, pop open a can, and every little critter in the neighborhood drops by to say "Hi!"

If you buy tickets and don't have the brains to check them often and on time, then that individual does not deserve to win. This is part of the reason we are having this "epidemic" of unclaimed prizes. If you are not going to check your tickets, then do not play. It is that simple.

Oh gosh no. I don't think i have ever had that kind of thing happen. i know for sure all those tickets were losers. But i can understand why you would want to bring that question up.

Yup, I've done it. Often I've found them as bookmarks.
I don't check to see if they would've won.

                Scared

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

                Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

I don't usually buy lottery tickets more than a day before a drawing unless I'm so late the terminal has switched over for the next drawing.  Most times it's an hour or two before the drawings so I'm checking them for winners before I've had time to stash them.

In Ohio you can buy lottery tickets up to fifteen minutes before the drawings for all games except PowerBall.

                      I wouldn't leave a lottery ticket where I wouldn't leave my cash....

My response was not to be taken personal MM- I just find it fascinating that   almost all the respondents are saying it " Never Happens" that everything is always accounted for, maybe in a perfect World, Yeah. l have yet to encounter someone who " never"  misplaces their keys, wallet etc etc- yet when the topic comes up about " misplacing their lottery ticket or tickets," the answer is Never? .. Right. Perhaps if the person just started purchasing lottery tickets last week or so, but given that we have folks who have played for decades- to say Never, seems like a stretch, a real stretch!

Saying " Not Yet" is a safer bet.  Just my Opinion.Smile

I recently found an old ticket in a drawer at work it was from the 90's.  I did not check the numbers to see if they had won anything.  So yes it can and does happen!

You are right, but I cut that risk down tremendously as I now only very rarely buy a paper ticket and mostly play online.LOL
