Hello Lottery Post Members!

I am in the process of developing a new website that would have members compete

against each other picking winning lottery numbers for various lottery games.

The general premise of the website would be this:

  • Everybody picks 10 sets of numbers for each lottery game that we use
  • For each number you get correct, you earn points
  • Members with the most points correct earn prizes

I am looking for feedback if this type of site would be something that the

lottery community in general would like and support.

Basically, it's like Fantasy Football, but with a Lottery theme.

Any comments or ideas that you have would be greatly appreciated.

May the Numbers be with You!

I don't know anything about how fantasy football works.

    Fantasy Lottery ...

    1) Is this a FREE or MEMBERSHIP website ?? If Membership, how much would it cost ???

    2) What much does it cost to play each lottery game ???

    3) Which type of lottery games ?? Pick 3/4 , Pick 5/6, Jackpot/PB/MM ???

    4) I assume the actual winning numbers for a "fantasy" type of lottery game, would be chosen by computer RNG or ping pong style, or how ???

    5) What kind of prizes are available ???

    6) How do we redeem prizes ??

    7) What are the "Rules of the Game" to this "Fantasy" concept ???

Gee, you're in Fond du Lac, you should play for real!

A member here, MADDOG10 has MM and PB challenges going.

      Here's one: https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/294138

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

      Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

We basically already have that here.  It's called the Predictions Board.  Everyone has stats, and their predictions are matched automatically against the actual results, with statistics maintained for every member -- and a top predictors report.

Too many wrinkles in this type of venture.

The  only one with an iron is the guy who creates it.

You look like a happy enough chap, is that really you or just a random happy chap?

I'm sure there is a monetary investment ?? That's where the problems come in.

            Hey DR65

Thanks for the response - yep, that's me

I've actually created and operated lotto contest type of sites dating back as far as 1996 -

so familiar with those "wrinkles" you are talking about -

I would have both a free version and then one with a small weekly entry like $4.95 - in theory

Cool - didn't see that here - will check it out closer - are there cash prizes being paid or just for fun?

                Hey Destiny Creation -

Thanks for the questions - I am in the early stages and just feeling out the interest - but here is what I can answer

                1) I would have both free and membership.  Free members would win small cash prises, paid would win bigger

                2) The paid would pay something around $4.95/week to compete

                3) I am planning on starting with PB and MM and grow from there

                4) I would use the actual winning numbers from PB and MM

                5) Cash and it would vary depending on the number of participants

                6) By paypal, check or winnings can be put toward future monthly memberships

                7) Haven't got into details yet in the rules - but basically, members that pick the most numbers correctly win!

No cash prizes.  If you accept any money and then award any prizes, you'll be starting an illegal venture, sorry to say.  It's been dreamed about by a million different people at one time or another — several of whom have discussed it on Lottery Post in the past.

No, the only kind of lottery I'm interested in is the one that pays me money to retire and generational wealth. everything else is basically a sweepstakes.

I don't want to "use up my luck" on non-official lotto.

                        Hey Todd

Well, actually I have owned over 10 lotto related sites since 1996, 2 of which were online lottery pool sites of which I actually had to go to court to prove what I was doing was not illegal - of which I did and won the case.    From 1996 - 2006 I did in excess of $2mil in sales related to lotto sites, so looking to rekindle that magic :)

But, isn't Fantasy Football doing exactly what you stated?  Accepting money and awarding cash prizes.  The fight that I would have to fight is whether or not picking lottery numbers is a "skill" vs. "luck".  Skill games are allowed to accept money and pay prizes, luck games are not.  And I am sure there are plenty of people on this website that would argue there is a skill in picking numbers.   Would you pick a set of numbers for powerball that has already been drawn?  No, because there has never been a repeat set of numbers drawn for either powerball or megamillions.  Would you pick 1,2,3,4,5 for numbers?  No, as the odds of 5 numbers drawing in a row are very unlikely - so some skill involved.

Thanks for the continued thoughts - appreciate it.

I'm aware of your websites but I think you're fighting a losing battle on this.  Courts would never buy your skill argument.

Possibly - but at the same time, the State of Wisconsin when they came knocking on my door back in 2006 with a swat team thought what I was doing was illegal also and turned out that wasn't the case - but agreed, if I took in cash and claimed it was a skill game, it would be tough.  But, if I offer a free play option and cash was for auto submitting numbers instead of manually doing it and cash was for not having to view advertisements and possible higher cash prizes, then I could in theory get away with it - same thing free lotto is still doing I believe - haven't checked them out that close lately -  still just thinking about it -
