  Column A is no Folding and no Inverting.

  Folding is simply making hot and cold numbers more significant; average numbers less significant.

  It's kind of like taking the absolute value of an integer: {..., -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, ...}

  The hot numbers are greater positive numbers and the cold numbers are lesser negative.

  The average numbers tend to be near zero.

  When folding, or taking the absolute value, the numbers all become positive; making cold number become hot:
  Abs({..., -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, ...}) = {0, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 3, ...}
